RE: General Video Game Thread
@arkandel
I seriously loved the Warbringer trailers they did. Jaina was my favorite but Sylvanas was a close second. It really was enough to bring me close enough to returning to WoW that I opened my battle.net account for the first time in four years to consider it.

By the time I got my gamepad I had my jump and targeting remapped to my gaming mouse. So I could not really tell you how to best deal with that. Which means my best suggestion is to move those essentials to your mouse if you have a multi-button mouse. As for my off-spec, in WoW, I ran tank/dps split spec and I just remapped my primary functions to the top two rows with necessary secondaries to the bottom two rows - and since the buttons changed when you swapped specs all that needed to be keyed on a switch was top two rows.
In addition, as I mapped each skill row I moved those rows into the same formation as my gamepad on screen too and then shrunk them down. That helped me get used to my setups.

I swapped to one after my first year of raiding on WoW and I found that it helped tighten my actions/rotations for skill use. They are really great for doing that but it does take a bit to get used to but once you do it becomes second nature.I think the hardest part about using my gamepad was remapping for how I would use it.

Your comment created a rather interesting side quest. So I looked into the statistics for women in the railroad industry which includes locomotive engineers and operators, switch operators, conductors, and yard masters. -

RE: Good or New Movies Review
So the second trailer for Battle Angel Alita has dropped and I'm definitely looking forward to the movie. The first trailer left me with a bit of dubiousness but now I'm set.

I agree. I found the article interesting but adding Anita and Carolyn, her editor, really undercuts the argument of the whole article for me. -
RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
Interestingly that is almost what the conversation was about. Except more modern economics and business accounting tax structures which they know nothing about but they watched business movies like Wolf of Wallstreet and thought they did.

Yes please continue to lecture me about the topic you have no education in while I sit here and polish my framed degree.

Well...Comstar was a psuedo analog for Christianity, substituting Christ for Blake. -

I had to hit up google to learn how much of a thing that pronoun issue was. I did not even think anything of it when making my characters in the game.Just goes to show how much a vocal minority can put a ruinous spin on something.

That was my take away from the whole thing. I do not see Arenanet in the wrong on this one - although I think Peter should have probably been suspended, that was the only heavy handed result I think came out of it. -
RE: Recipes!
My mom loves to bake and she makes some weird things from time to time. In this case it started with her asking, Who likes Tornado Cake? I thought this was an interesting cake and was pretty tasty. Though if you are NOT a fan of coconut well then this is not for you.
Ingredients:
Cake-
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
20oz can crushed pineappleTopping-
1/2 cup salted butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup chopped *pecans
1 cup sweetened coconut flakes*Really you can substitute other kinds of nuts or if you prefer fruit for this.
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9x13" baking pan with butter
In a large mixing bowl, mix together your flour, sugar, baking soda, eggs, vanilla, and crushed pineapple.Pour into your baking pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
Poke several holes in the cake with the handle of a wooden spoon or something equivalent.
In a medium sized sauce pan, heat your butter, sugar, evaporated milk, and vanilla until it reaches a boil.
Mix in your pecans and coconut and continue cooking for about 5 minutes on medium heat, stirring constantly.
Pour your topping evenly over your cake, slice, and enjoy! OR! You can chill it for a day. This cake tastes good chilled or warm. You could even chill it and heat it up in a microwave for about 30 seconds and add a scoop of your favorite ice cream with it.

RE: Good TV
I have not seen it come up here but if anyone has, then I'm just repeating things but - if you have Netflix, check out the Frankenstein Chronicles. It is exceptionally well done.

There were supposed to be more multi-lance missions in the game. Unfortunately, this was one of the features to go during development due to HBS' lawsuit issues. -

Does anyone else think that the new Skyscraper Dwayne Johnson movie looks like a Die Hard/Taken mashup?
