Arx has some good openings for crafters. Particularly weaponsmiths and leatherworkers.

For the love of all thirteen gods, more weaponsmiths. I swear I am the only active one, and I am getting kind of burned out on descing. Help!

Who are you lone weaponcrafting hero? Tell us your identity!

@Cupcake What? Did season 2 at least have an ending? I was about to start watching season 1

Did not. It ended on a cliff hanger.

That was a staple for the siege stories too. There was no real element of danger because the NPC badguys that were not just minions were so easily killed that the sense of danger was entirely sucked out of the encountersl. The same thing goes for the attitude of the city - there was no sense of a city under siege. It was 'oh look an attack happened here yesterday, well okay, life goes on'. So by the time the siege itself happened it was pretty much a case of...oh just a lot more of them. Okay. Whatevs.

On that note though I will give super kudos to Apos for running multiple scenes in multiple rooms and keeping up with them all, and making them all interesting and fun to do. That had to be hard as hell and he did a fine job.

      ETA:
I will note I am not complaining actually about the danger sense of the scenes during siege stories, I just feel they could have been coordinated or conducted better for a sense of overall danger as a city under siege. I do believe though that they were ran with a 7th Sea kind of vibe to them where the characters were meant to be over-the-top big damn heroes, and that made the scenes in and of themselves fun too.

      • Do not be afraid to tell people no. "No, but" is okay if you have good alternatives but sometimes a bad idea is just a bad idea.

      • Do not violate the vision of your game for the sake of others.

That is a highly neat idea, @Apos.

Could be a useful RP tool, too, if people can view the impressions people have had of them? (I don't know if they can or not, attributed or otherwise.) It'd be a great way to see if you're hitting the mark you aim for in your character's portrayal and such.

Yes you do see what other people write about you. Which is quite helpful to know how they view you do just that - gauge if you are coming off the way you desire with your character.

There has been an influx into Thrax the last few days of players. A new Victus. A new Dagon. And the RP has been readily available. There have been periphery family members coming in too (half-siblings of Fatima and Abbas) and the mood seems to be positive.

I'm probably biased but it seems like a really positive turn and shift in mood. I think it is a good time if you have been wanting to join the game or try it to give it a shot. There is enough new players and people that have been coming on in the game that it is a good place to try the game out.

Yeah I like that Abbas seems more active and it was nice seeing Victus on the grid again. I am interested in meeting some of the new people in Thrax.

      @Pandora

You make a good point Pandora. I liked seeing that. While everyone else debates the merits of a social combat system, I would just like to see social scenes given the same consideration for the one who sets up, hosts, and coodinates the event to get RS claim status like anyone running a combat scene does.

Thanks for the input guys. Lots of good points and helps me give consideration to my own point of view on it.

    • MU and Alternate Channels

I will be up front about this. I put this here for genuine consideration but the source for the question comes from a banning that happened on Arx and was recently reversed in decision.

So for consideration guys, how much separation should the staff of a MU consider there to be between the game and things like Discord? Or Teamspeak? Or Skype? At what point, for example, should a Discord channel be considered a community channel, if at all? And thus behavior on these mediums can and should have a response by staff in a game who are also merely guests in those mediums and not the moderators or hosts of the server itself?

      Thoughts?

I might have a free Witcher 2 Key. I got one for being a beta dev for Gwent. I am unsure if it will work for someone else but if they want to give it a try I will not deny them the opportunity. Message me if you are interested.

Mount & Blade is free today at gog.com

It is awesomely fun, and has some of the best voice acting in the industry.

It is not talked about much but M&B has hung on with gamers and kicking off the occasional sales deluges much like Skyrim. Bannerlords is on the horizon. I am excited for the next Mount and Blade installment.

I was not meaning different was bad. I agree with you in fact. But sometimes going with different can be detrimental because The Witcher, mostly because of the video games, has generated a huge following. So my big concern would be negative reception that would tank a tv show because 'it does not follow the VGs' when a lot of players are not familiar with the novels.

I have read the translated novels. I am hoping that if they go with a recreation they stick close to the novels but from what I'm reading it sounds like it might be something a little different.
