@Three-Eyed-Crow I don't care. I WILL HAPPILY SWALLOW DUAL WIELDED BASTARD SWORDS ON A MUSH, if that's the price for that epic scene. Cuz it was the bomb.

RE: Space Lords and Ladies
@Packrat I like. I even like Space Elves (let's not call them that, though).

RE: Good TV
Double post: Also final scene mike drop. I loved it. I have been loving that whole story the last couple of seasons, from it not being my favorite.

RE: Where do younger folks RP these days?
I've heard tumblr is a thing, too. And like @Three-Eyed-Crow I've wanted to kill myself when reading that shit.

Galavant was 'Medieval Glee'.
Glee sucked. Ergo Galavant sucked too.
I don't generally downvote much. And technically Glee sucked, so part of this statement isn't wrong. BUT THE PART ABOUT GALAVANT IS AND SO YOU DESERVE THE DOWNVOTE AND I WANTED YOU TO KNOW IT WAS ME!!!!

They keep saying they're fast because the various +jobs are easy.
It was a revelation for me to use @Thenomain 's code when I was staff at Reno. My previous staffing experience had led me to dread anything code based, working on sheets, whatever.

RE: Good TV
@lordbelh I didn't say they got screwed. They got skewered right in the feels cuz the show was cancelled. I also hate when shows aren't given a way to 'end' the show in reasonable fashion and the viewers are just left hanging, that's kind of screwed.
My bad. 5am reading comprehension!

RE: Finding roleplay
@Arkandel I use wikis in conjunction with +where/+who. To see if there's any people looking active whom my character has a good reason to interact with.

RE: Cobalt Streams A Thing
@Cobaltasaurus I rate it 3/10.
Severe downgrade for lack of meanness and horror and evil rampage. How hard is it to just tell off one crazy trash can pilferer?! Listen to your twitch chat. You know twitch chat is always right.
Will give props for attempted old guy voice, though. That clawed you back up to a 3.

RE: Something similar to WoD, but not quite
I don't know if its been mentioned, but isnt there a Harry Dresden game around, too? Using the Harry Dresden system.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure if you made an original theme urban fantasy game, and it wasn't terrible, people would be happy to play it.

RE: Any Streamers Out There?
@Apu , I know that @Cobaltasaurus streams, having watched it for a bit.

RE: PVP games/elements?
People were lining up to play RfK, and it employed PvP as an integral part of the game, from bottom up. So yes, I think if you make a well built game with solid foundations, it's a good way to go.

RE: Good TV
@Arkandel I started out pretty lukewarm to Preacher, but I'm starting to get into it now that we're getting a bit into the season.

RE: Good TV
I've been starved for sci-fi shows I actually like, when someone mentioned Killjoys. It was actually pretty enjoyable, I thought.

"You are what you eat." Disciplines in Vampire will be learned through how you play. Feed from the homeless, or shunned from society? You will learn obfuscate.
The Camarilla, the Beast, and more may have changed or shifted in meaning or operation. So people keep playing VtM because they weren't a fan of how the themes had been reworked in Requiem. So you're going back to VtM to redefine.. the themes again.
I'm fully on board with updating VtM, especially cleaning up all of the oWoD mechanics and systems which are frankly a bitch to play with compared to CoD. There's ton of things in the themes that could use a clean up as well, because when you have a sprawling universe coherency will go out the window. This is a great opportunity to streamline things.
But for fucks sake, don't touch the core ideas that keep people playing the fucking game.

RE: Cultural differences between MUDs and MUSHes
@Thenomain said in Cultural differences between MUDs and MUSHes:
A single room can have multiple scenes in it, and it happens all the time. They are interlinked by proximity, but nobody is throwing you out of a room by saying they're not willing to include you in their interactions. There's no reason to be a jerk because you feel slighted. There's certainly no reason to feel slighted.
That's exactly what s/he was saying, though? Its fine not to interact, just don't claim OOC ownership over the room?

@Arkandel Seems more of a peeve to me.
I disagree!
Its okay to disagree!
It's fairly typical (probably even cliche) when a scene starts somewhere with 2-3 people and just as it starts getting some momentum suddenly it balloons to 5-6 as folks notice there's stuff happening on +where and walk right in so it swiftly becomes unmanageable. It's common to see the original participants then going "uh, sorry guys, I can't keep up with the spam, see ya!".
It is fairly common. I do it myself some times. But there are alternatives, including leaving together with some other original characters and taking your scene to go. We're on a game together. Things happening you can't control, a scene taking a sudden left turn, doesn't have to be a problem unless you're unable or unwilling to turn it into more fodder for rp.
Now, to keep things under perspective here I am not claiming the-generic-you is a monster for popping in without checking first... but check first. It's that or have every scene take place in temp rooms, at which point why have a grid at all?
I'll flip that around on you: If public spaces can't be used by the public you might as well just stay in temp rooms and every scene exclusive to page invites.
