My roommate - I told her since I was broke, I couldn't afford holiday gifts. She still managed to get me two small gifts that were exactly what I would have wanted.

I also love my little gang of weirdo family I got to see for Yule.

This is the first holiday season without my dad. We didn't have any sort of family thanksgiving, (or if they did, I wasn't invited).

My stepmother hasn't answered my calls in the last few weeks, so I guess she doesn't give a fuck? One sister says she doesn't want anything, need anything, but if I want to get Nugget something... Other sister told me she doesn't want/need anything, but got me something small so she can save for a downpayment on her own house.

So yeah, my first Christmas without my father, and I'll be spending it alone - Roommates leave tomorrow to go visit her family. I don't know why I expected otherwise.

Filling out onboarding and background BS this week (but got a job offer, yay!) - Sadly, the recruiter and I seem to have a communication issue - "Hey, this won't let me sign it." "Please sign this form and send it back to me." " ... I tried to do that, I downloaded it again and refilled it out - it still will not allow me to sign it" "Please redownload and sign it. "

Just... Grr

I wish the gabapentin would knock me out. I got it for fibro pain/limb displacement disorder, but it doesn't put me out.

@eye8urcake Yeah. Relaxed, not pain free. But I get so tense when I keep trying to work through the pain, that even just relaxing so I can rest is a godsend. I used to use it just to fall asleep (Dad got me smoking with him when he realized I didn't sleep at night like he didn't), and now I use it when I'm so tensed up that I need to stop, or I might break.
Lucky me - Ambien works (though they took me off it, the bastards), and now I'm on a mix of gabapentin and something else.

@eye8urcake While I can't speak for your husband, as someone who also has that pain pill resistance (it takes morphine, for example) and auto immune nerve/spine damage - pot works better and faster for me than my sister who did not get my pain med resistance. Two or three big hits and I'm relaxed and daydreaming, and she's making fun of me.

@Ganymede If you were at a Christmas show with the kids, you may have been legit distracted. And I love cupcakes, but fuck them if I can have cheesecake.

@Sunny I know all these feels. Thank the gods my housemate is a young, strong guy. He never even bitches when I ask him to grab the heavy stuff out of the car so I don't have to make a crap ton of trips.

My brain still doesn't like to think about why/how to ask for help.
