From what I've gathered from previous threads about this hot mess of a game... it essentially means that Nymeria wants to have sole and complete ownership of everything that happens in and on the game so that she can turn around and use it for her collaborations with GRRM and claim it all as her personal intellectual property. Basically, so she can take your character and claim all credit for it.

RE: Blood of Dragons
If a particular MU* uses the TT book rules, would you still insist that it needs GRRM's express permission? I'm curious, because you seem to be making a big deal over the difference between a MUSH and a TT, when more often than not, the MU* uses the same rules, books, etc. as the TT.

RE: Eldritch - A World of Darkness MUX
I'm actually using my character to try and pull some different people into various scenes. Its a bit slow going at the moment since I do have an inconsistent schedule for work right now, but I'll be poking at various groups! I've even been in contact with at least one LS vamp, so I'm more than happy to RP with whomever.
Honestly, I think timing/scheduling/timezones have been the biggest holdup thus far. People are willing and wanting to play, finding a time when all the free time coincides is the hard part.

I'm sitting on a Stigmatic right now, though I'm still not sure if I'll have her identity taken over as a Cover for a Demon yet or not. She's still interesting to me as a Stigmatic.

M/M+ are both open to apps, that includes the 'lesser templates' like ghouls, wolfbloods, and stigmatics.

No, I get it. The self-checkout at Wal-Mart is tetchy like that here too. I try to only use it if I have one or two quick things.
My favorite is 'please bag your item'... but I did bag my item... 'please bag your item'... I DID DAMMIT. I can't help it if the item I scanned is too lightweight for your sensor to pick up!

RE: RL peeves! >< @$!#
Strange as it seems.. some people just can't get the hang of self-checkout. A lifetime of having someone else do it makes them complacent and resistant to learning, no matter how easy it is.

RE: Incentives
@Olsson Wasn't the whole point of ST'ing that someone ENJOYED telling the stories? You don't gain anything for ST'ing an online TT, why should you gain it for ST'ing in a MU*?
-
RE: Incentives
@Olsson And that gratification HAS to come in the form of xp? Your character, which has zero to do with the plots that you are running, should be allowed to become more powerful simply because you as a player have the ability to tell a good story?
@Derp Those NPC's are part of a specific plot being run and will go away once the plot is completed, not the ST's personal character that has zero to do with the plots you're ST'ing and will remain long after the plot is finished.

RE: Incentives
The difference being that you can generally ST more scenes in a day than you can play in plots. You'll have people make up actual ST bits that they'll drop into RP rooms to ST scenes, in addition to their character bit, AND an alt character bit... and all that xp will go to one character. As its been mentioned, people will ST 3-4 scenes a day while the player will generally only be in MAYBE one PRP per day.
But here, lets turn this around for a second. Why should your CHARACTER advance in ability and power for something YOU did as a player that had absolutely nothing to do with your character? The entire system is built around getting xp for PLAYING a character. Not for STing. There is nothing in the books that mention the ST/DM/GM getting xp for running the plot. So why should you?
-
RE: Incentives
And some people just aren't confident in their ST'ing abilities, yet inevitably end up falling behind xpwise simply because they can't or won't ST since there's really not any other way to make up the xp lost by not ST'ing. Just because its an option, doesn't make it one that works for everyone.

RE: Incentives
I love that people will run plots. Without them, many games would have none or next to none. But I don't agree with 'my character should get better at the stuff they do because I as a player ran a scene for someone else'. That exact sort of thing is what killed staff ST's to begin with. Why would someone run a plot on their staffbit when they could get xp for running it from their character bit instead?

Okay, chiming in as a mom!
I have never breastfed my kids in public. I'm just not personally comfortable with whipping out my boobs unless large quantities of alcohol are involved. That said, I have nothing against women that DO breastfeed in public. They should, however, expect that at least occasionally, people are going to glance at them. Its human nature. If you're looking around and your brain suddenly goes 'BOOB!', you're going to go for a second look, if only to verify. So yeah, A++ to that Starbucks barista, I'd have tipped her too.
As far as noisy kids in theaters go? I've been that mom that's had to drag a kid out of a movie because they were being squirmy and loud. Yeah, it sucks cause you paid money to see the movie, but you also took that risk by dragging your kid along. So fuck those parents that let their kids run wild in public, ANY public. Corral your goddamn crotchspawn or stay the fuck home like the other respectable parents do. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to leave a place because my ADHD kid is being... ADHD. Being in public doesn't give him the right to run around screaming anymore than it gives me the right to expect everyone else to just put up with it.
TLDR; Being anywhere in public, even a beach or park, is not license to allow your child(ren) to run hog wild, annoying the shit out of everyone else.

RE: Eldritch - A World of Darkness MUX
Yeah, yeah, @Silver, you were one of the people pushing me to app. NOW YOU HAVE TO RP WITH ME! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

RE: Eldritch - A World of Darkness MUX
I'll admit it. I bucked and railed against making a character on Eldritch. Not because of the people, but simply because there are a few pretty big things about GMC that I just don't care for. However, I will now publicly eat my serving of crow. My friends finally pushed and nudged and poked me into making a character. And it wasn't even the character I initially wanted to play. I wanted to play a Demon, but I missed the slot openings. Instead, I now play a stigmatic... and I'm having a BLAST. The cgen was by far the easiest I have ever gone through. Code was simple, clean, and intuitive (thank you Theno!). The staff were amazingly helpful (thank you Deviant and Eerie!). Even the players jumped in to help with suggestions and answers when they could. I'm only just starting, obviously, but this game has the potential to be great. Not because there's a ton of people, or a slew of splats.. but just because its easygoing, simple, and welcoming. I had RP the same night I was approved and the scene was great. Fun, engaging, and ending with everyone feeling good about how it progressed. I don't think I could get a better first day on a game.

RE: RL things I love
Duckman was the property of USA Network, which as far as I know, seems to have disappeared entirely.

RE: RL things I love
The last one I remember actually liking, oddly enough, was SPD. Despite the dog-man and cat-woman, the episodes themselves were well-written and the cast did it with only slight amounts of over-acting. Dino Thunder, Mystic Force, Jungle Fury, Operation Overdrive, Samurai.... ugh. Just ugh.

RE: RL things I love
I wouldn't necessarily consider Power Rangers a GOOD thing these days. I've seen the last few iterations. They're really kinda reaching for premise anymore.

RE: RL things I love
You know who REALLY dropped the ball? Nickelodeon. They used to have AMAZING after-school shows for kids. Now its just... meh.
