Counter Peeve: Are people really so sensitive you can't just say 'hey, that outfit doesn't work for what we're doing'? Seriously? We have to find ways to say it that doesn't hurt their feelings? Fuck that. I have little time and less patience to concoct winding, rambly phrases that avoids blaming the person who chose the outfit despite knowing which activity was going to be taking place just because their delicate psyche can't handle it. I do not sugarcoat for adults. Real world, people, get used to being bluntly told you did something stupid/silly/shouldn't have done. Accept it and go change your goddamn outfit so we can get to where we're going or someone else is probably going to bitch that we're late.

No, but unless the mechanics are different, if you have more 1's than you do successes (10's, in this case), its a botched roll.

The updates are because the PS4 is essentially a gaming computer that you hook to your tv. There's all kinds of drivers and software that need to be kept up to date on a regular basis.

We just got my youngest a Wii U, but I've always been partial to the Xbox. The games I most loved to play on the Playstation I don't know that I can still play on a PS3 or 4.

I have the game. And the three character packs. I'm looking for the Claptrap bonus levels DLC to go on sale.

I picked up a bunch of the LEGO series games and two of the Witcher games so far. >.> I was HOPING the level up DLC for Borderlands Pre would be on sale, but apparently only the Season Pass is, and I already have everything from it but for that one part.

SACRILEGE!!! I have dragged my kids along to D&D day when I couldn't get a sitter or my mom was busy. Because D&D day is sacred, dammit!

I've found that as I've gotten older, physical appearance has become less important. Not that I don't have my preferences (I do), but I would much rather date someone that I can actually enjoy spending time with over someone that's a total hardbody but that makes me want to smother them with a pillow every third word.

Also, YES. Dear God yes. Please stop telling me that I need to stop drinking so much coffee while you shove your second Big Mac into your mouth. Or that I need to eat more than two meals a day when that keeps me perfectly content. I don't like breakfast, sue me. On the rare occasion I actually eat that early, I tend to be too full for lunch. So what, that's just how my body works, leave me alone.

Anyone who blocks the aisle at the grocery store, period. I don't care that you're five minutes deep into a mental comparison between brands of whatever. I don't care that your friend is there and you want to chat with them. I. Do. Not. Care. I am there to get my groceries and get the Hell out. If you want to be uninterrupted in your perusal/chat/whatever? Then stop leaving your cart in the middle of the goddamn aisle. I have zero compunctions about pushing your cart to one side or the other, and will, regardless of how much you glare or bitch at me for interrupting your precious whatever time. You interrupted my grocery time first.

      *Empirical you, obviously.

I don't particularly care one way or another if you don't want to endorse non-authorized GoT games on your game. What I care about is your behavior and statements towards anyone that dares to have or play on one of those games. You've taken some fairly vaguely worded statements from GRRM, some of them pretty damn old statements, and turned them into a verbal crusade against non-authorized GoT games that you're undertaking on his behalf. Without his consent, and likely without his knowledge. I'm not claiming you've attempted to shut down non-authorized games, I've never played on a GoT game or even really know anyone that has, to make that kind of statement. But your behavior and statements in this thread have been pretty clear-cut and outspoken against those games. Rather than promoting your game for its rich stories or in-depth characters, you promote it for being 'authorized'. You've based the whole of your marketing campaign for your game on that one fact. Your statements about non-authorized games have been in the same vein as slut-shaming, and that in and of itself is shameful. Insisting that your game is the only 'right' game because you have permission is pompous, arrogant, and conceited.

Actually, what you've done is interpret his statement how YOU want them to be interpreted in the way that best suits YOU and your desires. Until you can show me an actual conversation between GRRM and you personally wherein you point-blank ask the man if he wants all other non-authorized GoT games shut down and he very clearly says yes in response to that direct question... all you're doing is trying to force your spin on a statement he made that may or may not even have a context bearing on this particular situation.

TLDR; Saying 'man this bugs me/creeps me out/is annoying' is NOT the same as saying 'why are these people doing this, they need to stop right now, I never gave my permission for this'.

Have you... ever played on a MU* that uses TT books for their rules? You still need to have the core books for whatever you're playing. Its not like the books are loaded wholesale into the MU*, I'm not even sure if that would be possible. But here, example time!

I want to play on a D&D MU*. Without having the D&D books, I could technically make a character, but I wouldn't know what the Feats I'd picked gave me mechanically, I wouldn't know what skills are class or cross-class, I wouldn't know how many dice to roll for my Lightning Bolt, so on and so forth.

      See how that works?

As to the other part... since you didn't personally make the character that someone else put the time and effort into creating, I will call bullshit. You provided the family name and some potential background information to use in the effort they make to create the character. The character is still all them, however, since they are the ones that make it, flesh it out, and bring it to life. Trying to claim that you are personally responsible for each and every character created is ego on a scale equatable to megalomania.
