RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)
I finally got my ADHD diagnosis. Along with two other diagnoses. One of which surprised the fuck out of me and one of which everyone who has met me for the last 20 years probably knew before I spoke.
Can't get any medicine yet because the doc wants to figure out WTF is going on with my high blood pressure before we change my meds. BUT SOON. MAYBE. I HOPE.

RE: Crafting Thread Part ?
@crawfish Aureth & Joscelin have arrived and you're right, the gold paint does look better in person. SO CUTE.

RE: Crafting Thread Part ?
@crawfish I'm super excited. And I think it looks cute as hell scanned, so.

@derp I also have a photograph of the vaccine card that I took right after my first shot because I posted it to the book of faces.
I'd be kind of shocked if Washington doesn't have some kind of electronic thing going on, but also ugh.

@wretched yeah my wallet is missing with my vaccine card in it and i'm dying inside about that more than all of the cash and credit cards and my driver's license

RE: Like Stardew Valley? Fill out this form...
Yeah I clicked one of those but I would have been just as happy to click "any of the above".

RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)
@Derp I did terrible on my first round of the LSAT, took it again after a year of actually preparing and stuff, and did well enough to get a big fat scholarship to GU (go bulldogs or whatever). You can always go again if it turns out too stressful for optimized performance.

RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)
Finally got my assessment rescheduled. For May. Apparently the person who wasn't rescheduling me no longer works there.
Meanwhile I just get to keep coping shittily til mid May. Also I had to cancel my mental health therapy appt because of a shelter care hearing and now I have to go to a GP appt after my hearings this afternoon because the rest of my body has decided to rebel in addition to my brain.
I want to go back to bed.

RE: The Work Thread
I hate having to tell people I can't work for free.
Like, the last thing in the world I want to do is work for free. But it's really hard sometimes to be like, "I know you're poor and suffering, but I can't be the one to fix it."
Stupid empathy.

RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)
@faraday I don't actually think it's a cancellation fee. Like, the assessment was $500 but that included all of the leadup stuff that I did - various testing, surveys, etc.; they charged me the same as if I had showed up for the appointment. If it's another $500 when/if we ever manage to reschedule I'll fight about it.

RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)
Yesterday I paid the bill from my ADHD assessment. The one I didn't get, because I wrote the date down wrong on the calendar and failed to attend. I played phone tag with the office for awhile and then faded slowly into non-existence out of shame, guilt and probably depression. Forced myself to call and leave another message yesterday, but they haven't called me back.
So I'm $500 out of pocket & still no closer to getting treatment. They're not open on Fridays too so I can't call them again today.
I started this process in December.
I'm tired and sad.

RE: Sensitivity in gaming
It's not hard to tell at all. Content warning: snuggles is obviously a joke. I've seen people warn for content for profanity for a single swear word, which is the closest thing to an actually borderline case I've seen that I can recall.
Engaging with your hypothetical, I'll warn for penguins if I have knowledge that someone has been traumatized by penguins. It is no skin off my ass to do so, and if someone has undertaken the monumental act of emotional bravery to inform others they need a content warning for penguins, they deserve that 2 seconds of effort from me to give them the warning they've asked for even if others would think it looks dumb.

RE: The Work Thread
@sunny We used to use asana for game staffing a few years ago when I actually staffed games instead of barely remembering to RP. It's great!
