Found out today that a parent I THOUGHT I had a great relationship with and we both agreed on how to challenge her child had been at a school function talking about how poorly I'm challenging her kid.

Just. Like. Fuck.

This is also the parents who absolutely hate technology and wish that I'd never let their kid on a computer again. So I CAN'T use some of the computer assisted instructional things to help move them along without them getting upset about her spending too much time in front of a screen.

I absolutely refuse to do any Thanksgiving things with my students because they're too young to understand what really happened and I refuse to teach them false history.

I love when I don't have to work because I get to see my husband in the morning. Usually we are two ships passing. He is gone to the gym before I get up, and I am gone to work before he gets home.

(The fact that he brings yummy things home is totally just a bonus.)

I've been throwing up for most of the day. I'm fairly sure that it was something I ate last night as the stomach-ick started at the same time as I finished eating.

There's no way I'm going to write sub plans and cancel my after school club for that. So I'm here. Objectively sick.

finger steeples I just made the last second decision to throw out my lesson plans and go in a completley different direction.

The kids will be back in three minutes so LETS SEE HOW IT GOES.

(I think it'll be fiinnneee. They've designed and now are building compound machines from simple machines to complete a task. The only argument will be "BUT I WANT TO PUT THAT PIECE IN.")

Set them up for sainthood.

I'm pretty close with my family but there were some for sure tensions this year. Something it's very wrong with my mother, but none of us can figure out what it is and counseling is also not cutting it. In return my older sister was critical as hell back at her.

I'm not looking forward to the upcoming announcement of my younger sister's engagement and wedding preparations. (He hasn't proposed yet, but he has the ring.) I think it might just be a huge divider. Not only because it will be a huge stress on mom, but also because he isn't Mormon so there is a whole extra cultural thing.

I got a glass dip pen and a dip pen with many quills and inks.

Sadly, I have already broken the tip off my glass pen and it no longer writes properly. sorrow

There is a roundabout that has three 'out/in' parts in front of my apartment complex. One road leads to a little offshoot that connects to the main city roads. One splits off to a little-used road with parking for half-filled office buildings. The third leads to my fairly large apartment complex. When you enter the complex from the city roads you nave to go all around the circle before exiting to the complex.

ROUTINELY though, people go the WRONG WAY in the roundabout just to skip a few seconds of going the right way.

It pisses me off because it's just an accident waiting to happen.

DON'T DRIVE THE WRONG WAY. It took all my power to not park next to this idiot and yell at him.

This dearest child spent all winter break with her mother telling her that everything she did was correct.

Now she is back in the class and OCCASIONALLY (seriously, it's not often, this child is brilliant) she gets things wrong.

Guys. 6x4 is 24. Not 23. It really doesn't matter how many times you could it on your fingers incorrectly.
