I wish I knew it! If I hadn't had to go pick up my kids from lunch I might have stayed to see who the boys were. Instead I just giggled wildly as I walked past. They had to be kinder or first graders because 2-3 was at recess, and 4-5 at lunch with different bathrooms.

My principal just told me that we had 110 kids out today. (Our school has about 400 kiddos all told) Now, GRANTED, it's also flu season and we're getting our asses kicked by it. So maybe HALF of those are flu/genuine sickness related. So that leaves 55 kiddos that just didn't come to school because of weather.

Delayed starts are silly.

Upside, my kiddos got to watch The Magic School Bus (volcanoes) and that was fun.

I am Mormon/LDS/The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (I get where the prophet is coming from wanting us to use our whole name but heavens is it long...) so this just RESONATED with me!

swings feet My paycheck is suspiciously high but even though I have the money in my account they haven't posted my paystub to the system yet (I'm assuming because they switched to 4 10's for the summer months already.) So I can't verify it for a bit.

I wouldn't worry - except last summer they accidentally paid me for ~two~ months at once and then just took out the extra from the NEXT paycheck. So gotta be able to budget properly if that's happened again. (We get paid on the last day of the month vs bi-weekly or something.)

I dunno how to RP drunk or high but I once had the pleasure of being in a sceen that Puffin ran where the characters brought haze. Some of us had it, some of us didn't. Those who smoked got a lower composure difficulty! So that's a thing!

I love fireworks personally. It was one of the few times in my childhood when we stayed up late and went to the fancy end of the valley to enjoy something different. We would have sparklers too.

Then the west was hit with a drought that has come and gone so often in the last two decades that the displays never happened again and even sparklers were banned.

So now my affection for those memories is tempered by the fact I have an adult understanding and respect for others who can't for one reason or another tolerate them and/or are physically/emotionally hurt by them.

It is crazy how different their personalities are! My Kiva is a total "whats up, oh, forgot I don't care" type while my Lyra is "OMG A SOUND I MUST HIDE WHAT IF IT GETS ME".
