@Sunny Well. Okay. Not run by someone who's a malignant tumor on legs.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
Sonic MU not run by crazy people is impossible.
Not true. I'm relatively well adjusted and care a lot about fairness, and have a low tolerance for creepers. But yeah.
Guilty Gear would also make a hell of an MU, but I have a real soft spot for Mortal Kombat's setting and characters.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
@ZombieGenesis I mean Wild World Wrestling, yeah. I'd want it to be all kayfabe. Still relatively grounded, but with room for, y'know, wrestling vampires and guys who may or may not be possessed by demons and stuff on occasion. Probably let people have lots of alts. I like that it lets you play referees and managers/valets as well.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
@Testament I mean.
Some humor wouldn't go amiss.
But I honestly really like the setting and the characters. I'd really want to play either Seras or Alexander Anderson.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
@ZombieGenesis I even bought a tabletop rulebook for Pro Wrestling stuff, but I'd never be able to apply it in a way that people could follow, I don't think.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
I'd really love to make a Pro Wrestling MU
And a Mortal Kombat MU
And a Sonic The Hedgehog MU that isn't run by crazy people.
Maybe a Hellsing MU with the power level scaled down?
That's not gonna happen, though.

RE: Suicide Squad: Nation Under Fire
@RDC On a WWII game, the anti-fascism is literal. You are literally allied forces fighting a force of fascism.
This? This is like saying... Justice League are Antifa, and The Legion of Doom are Republicans.
What does that MEAN? The characters are still the characters. They're still gonna do what the characters would do, right? Do they have to change their behavior to fit the allegory? At best, it's meaningless. At worst it's confusing. It's just this one guy pretending he gets to punch and/or kill people he disagrees with.
Just make an Anitfa game if that's what you want. Don't slap cops and robbers lables on established characters. Like someone else said, the base premise had legs on it's own. The Antifa thing just makes it awkward.
-
RE: Suicide Squad: Nation Under Fire
I don't think it's so much 'anti antifa sentiment' as it is 'explicitly playing our favorite colorful comic characters as a metaphor for current social movements instead of just their natural conflicts is a little on the nose'. People want to play characters and stories, not allegories; as far as I know. Plus it's awkward. 'Intergang are the Republicans'. It's like... no, they're Intergang. You can pretend ANYONE you punch is a Republican, but that doesn't make it so.
Plus I think this might be the guy who came onto a game recently and wanted to app repurpose an obscure character as a government agent whose job is to hunt down and murder members of the Irish center-left party, so, y'know.
If you want to make a 'beat up your political enemies' game, maybe don't use superhero characters for it. Just make an OC setting.

RE: Space and Time Travel! Group Apps Welcome!
Is this still going? I haven't seen it advertised on some of the more populated games if you still want to get the word out.

RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
@Runescryer I didn't necessarily mean anything quite THAT overt, just allowing lewdness to be kind of a rampant component/underlying ever present element. Or at least permitted and encouraged. People being deeply inappropriate together while an exasperated third party tries to convey plot information to one of them, etc.
It's not perfectly thought out, obviously.
Though yours is another valid avenue.
The funny thing is, a lot of scenes would probably still fade to black to make room for a more focused TS scene later, but less detailed lewdness or casual touching/exposure could be an element in 'normal' scenes. Just needlessly sexy even when it's not the focus.
-
RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
@SeriousSirius I guess that's kind of what I was suggesting, is a game that's run like a Superhero/Star Wars game with plots being run by staff and players and whatnot, but also everything is/can be perverted as hell. But also actual stories, action and character development could conceivably happen.
I can think of a few reasons that it would fall apart, but it'd still be an interesting experiment. Probably better suited to weirdly ambitious fanfiction though.

RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
@SeriousSirius Well we ARE talking about erotic themed games versus 'normal' ones, which means that lewdness is an open part - or even a goal - of most RP whether or not staff is running plots or whatever. I'm basically talking about an environment where lewd stuff is happening even outside of a traditional TS; things happening matter of factly rather than the minute detail and focus TS scenes tend to ask for. I may be playing on the wrong superhero games, but you don't tend to see people casually pose the way their ass is swaying as they walk, and how shapely it is, in a normal scene.
At least I THINK we're talking about that sort of game/environment? Even if not with superheroes, that's just my hangup.

RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
@SeriousSirius I mean, ain't many people openly describing how hot they are, groping, or participating in lewd acts during the course of an otherwise normal character/story scene as far as I know.

RE: [NSFW] Erotic RP Concepts
This is both a potentially fun topic, and a damn good way to expose yourself in uncomfortable ways, so I'm torn.
-
RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
@GreenFlashlight That or just not wanting to read other people's erotic logs, or have them show up on the wiki. It's a little private.
-
RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
It kinda sounds like what the existing games are - or tried to be - where most people just partner up for private RP and don't do much else. Being able to play characters from other series typically just ends with them looking for sandbox play from their original setting, which they can already get on existing games, so if you want people who stick to theme and participate, I'd say keep it original.
That said, I do kind of wonder about a game that's specifically set in an AU of a certain setting, but with a pervasive theme of lewdness and/or an allowance for characters to just be freaks. Superheroes or Star Wars or whatever. Or an original plot based adventure RP game of that sort in general. I can see why it wouldn't work out, but I'm kinda curious all the same.
Poll could maybe use an optional section for anonymous comments/suggestions of that sort.

RE: Space and Time Travel! Group Apps Welcome!
@Botulism Does this mean it's safe to connect to the game and make characters now? You haven't given the green light yet on the 'gauging interest' thread where you asked people not to. ^^

RE: Gauging Interest
Reasons for time machines to not work, or losing access to them for the duration of an adventure is a staple of the genre, really. That and characters just deciding to stick through the current incident until it's over. It's less of a restriction than, I dunno, a story element? A means of creating tension and conflict? Episodic adventure tends to roll that way. If you have wilder ideas, could probably make them work on your own or run them by staff or something.
-
RE: Gauging Interest
Yeah, Doctor Who doesn't really have a framing story. It's the mostly random adventures of a weirdo with an intergalactic time machine; and the game would presumably just be the mostly random adventures of a BUNCH of weirdos with time machines.
Not that I think anyone's trying to sell you on it, just trying to clear up inaccuracies/misunderstandings.
