@de-villefort Dude, they're telling you to set up your social scenes so they HAVE a purpose. Talk with the other player about what you'd like to accomplish. Don't just go in with an order for a number three combo meal and a bad attitude. Put together scenes that make sense.

RE: Suicide Squad: Nation Under Fire
I don't think it's so much 'anti antifa sentiment' as it is 'explicitly playing our favorite colorful comic characters as a metaphor for current social movements instead of just their natural conflicts is a little on the nose'. People want to play characters and stories, not allegories; as far as I know. Plus it's awkward. 'Intergang are the Republicans'. It's like... no, they're Intergang. You can pretend ANYONE you punch is a Republican, but that doesn't make it so.
Plus I think this might be the guy who came onto a game recently and wanted to app repurpose an obscure character as a government agent whose job is to hunt down and murder members of the Irish center-left party, so, y'know.
If you want to make a 'beat up your political enemies' game, maybe don't use superhero characters for it. Just make an OC setting.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
Random idea: A Lords and Ladies game of politics and backstabbing and whatnot; but set in a demon realm of monster people of all shapes, sizes, and weird hungers.
I would never make this game, but it might be neat if it existed.

RE: A bit of trouble on Firefly
I have never known any amount of armchair psychology to be useful to anyone. We're not the ones who are going to solve whatever's wrong with that guy. Best just to keep them out of our lives, imo.

RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
@GreenFlashlight That or just not wanting to read other people's erotic logs, or have them show up on the wiki. It's a little private.

RE: A bit of trouble on Firefly
@GreenFlashlight It really is next-level pathetic. To honestly feel comforted by your own dollar-store supervillain shtick.

RE: [NSFW] Erotic RP Concepts
This is both a potentially fun topic, and a damn good way to expose yourself in uncomfortable ways, so I'm torn.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
@de-villefort Loads of people love Superman. I know there'd be people who agree with you, but I think you're projecting a little bit.

RE: Suicide Squad: Nation Under Fire
@RDC On a WWII game, the anti-fascism is literal. You are literally allied forces fighting a force of fascism.
This? This is like saying... Justice League are Antifa, and The Legion of Doom are Republicans.
What does that MEAN? The characters are still the characters. They're still gonna do what the characters would do, right? Do they have to change their behavior to fit the allegory? At best, it's meaningless. At worst it's confusing. It's just this one guy pretending he gets to punch and/or kill people he disagrees with.
Just make an Anitfa game if that's what you want. Don't slap cops and robbers lables on established characters. Like someone else said, the base premise had legs on it's own. The Antifa thing just makes it awkward.

RE: Why no Mortal Kombat MU?
@SquirrelTalk Hell, I'd play a game just about Outworld.

RE: Power Rangers: Power of the Grid
@Gnome You've probably leveled up since then, to be fair.

Pro Wrestling MU?
Has there every been an MU about pro wrestling? I'm curious. I've kinda got the bug for the idea of playing one, but I'd pretty much have to make it myself, I suspect.

RE: Why no Mortal Kombat MU?
@Ghost I dunno, I'm not a huge fan of crossovers at the best of times, and I'd want to focus on the MK cast and their roles and relationships to each other. If you introduce a whole other fighting game cast, you risk one greatly outweighing the other, or spreading so thin that people feel like the character they app won't get to really interact with the people in their character's orbit, discouraging them from apping in the first place, I think.
At any rate, when I looked at Match of the Millennium, it seemed like they had four people from every series that didn't have much to do with each other. Which might be fine for people more creative than me maybe??? But I like to keep it focused and the characters close.
EDIT: I'd dig a Street Fighter-only game though. ... Weirdly enough I wouldn't mind crossing it over with SNK/KOF, but that still has the same problems; the two settings just gel a little better.

RE: Cyberpunk
Too bad that Cyberpunk Red(?) mu never ended up happening.

RE: Pro Wrestling MU?
I'd love to see one pop up. Not as part of something else, but, like, its own super-kayfabe world, where wrestling is the most important sport - and possibly the most important THING - on the planet, and the feuds and larger than life characters are all real. Even the supernatural ones. I CRAAAVE it.
I'd also definitely love to see Street Fighter/KoF or Mortal Kombat games, but I'd be more interested in freeform RP in those than, like, throwing numbers at each other. I think the characters are the most interesting parts of those games anyway, and certainly the best part you can get across in a text game. I didn't like MoTM's HUGE CROSSOVER though, it seemed unfocused, and a lot of the series didn't mesh well. The only think I'd consider allowing to cross over would be Street Fighter and King of Fighters/SNK since they're pretty similar anyway. I'd still rather keep things condensed so characters can have their supporting casts around and everything.
A Guilty Gear game would also be rad.
But yeah, pro wrestling is what I'm about right now.

RE: Getting Young Blood Into MU*'ing
@gryphter You can't program the specifics of a rad kung fu fight, or climbing a mountain, or dodging falling rubble. A system that could visualize every scenario you can simply write out on a MUSH would be more complex than any video game in existence.
At any rate, voice-change-VR-RP and whatnot would be a separate thing entirely, rather than the evolution/growth/extension of MU-ing that I keep wishing for.
