RE: Hardware
I have the Das keyboard, mechanical. I was torn on whether the price difference was justified, when I first got it. Now, I really enjoy how crisp and clear it feels to type. Rubber dome key springs now feel muddy, like wading through mud instead of typing. Not nearly as instantly responsive.
Two dislikes: noise (Brown MX, no dampeners), the height of the keys.
However, I use the keyboard so much that I wear them out easily, so I think it'll be worth it in the long run. If you use the keyboard a lot, I would advise to make the switch. It can take a little bit of adjustment, especially if you're used to shallow keystrokes like I was.
It's worth noting that this is one of those tools that actually inspire you to do stuff, that's how big of a difference it is. Like if you buy a new guitar, you'll instantly feel more inspired when you play and the sound is so divine. Or pick your choice of awesome tool. And you'll enjoy not having to put in as much effort, not having to struggle with an imperfect tool, like suddenly walking on clouds. I imagine, for someone who's a writer or coder, this could be the equivalent of a modernized typewriter - it gives you that satisfying crunchy feeling while you're working.
If you have the extra money to throw at it, and use it extensively, it'll be worth it. If you're tight on cash, dunno if it's justifiable, rubber domes will serve you just as well.

Image macros. They got old somewhere around the heyday of the SA forums, and that was a very long time ago.
Who even calls them image macros anymore? Also, diafplz.
Whatever they're called, they fucking suck and you are dumb for defending/using them. Cheerfully yours.

They are not witty and are about as classy as one of those artifacted-to-hell 'funny' JPEGs that get splattered all over facebook.

For me, it's people who feel the need for excessive greetings on IM and Skype. I treat those as constantly open channels of communication. When you have something to say, you just say it. No need to 'open' and 'close' every time, especially not if we're going to be talking again in five minutes or so. It's usually newbies who do it, people who aren't used to the internet so much. It's still grating! We could be talking about interesting stuff instead! Or I could be moving on to some other multitasking thing.

You can do it, Cobalt. Some people take other people's ambitions as an affront, usually has to do with their own insecurities. There's that impulse to push everyone down to conform to everyone else. Doesn't mean it's impossible, it just means you'll be making everyone else look bad. More power to you, you know what you want and you're gonna take it.

RE: Tidy Board, Untidy Board
Tidy is better. I found the previews confusing at a glance, and instead just bookmarked the "Unread" posts link.

RE: RenoMUSH - The Biggest Little Game on the Net
Kireek, what you're writing is so far from my experience on Reno, that I really have to wonder what was going on before I joined the game.
As a concrete example, here's my experience so far. I made a mortal character who's now involved with three distinct groups of vampires. There's one potential werewolf lead that I want to pursue for RP. And there is a group of 4-5 mortal and various other characters that I am involved with through a currently ongoing plot. I've probably forgotten something. There's so much RP that I consider myself busy and I often feel bad for having to put off one scene for another. So much so that while I've been trying to chargen on another game, I never seem to have the time to properly focus on it.
It was actually a staggering difference from my experience on the Reach. Nobody gives a shit if you log in on TR. You're a drop in the ocean. On Reno I actually feel like my character's actions matter.

RE: RenoMUSH - The Biggest Little Game on the Net
I've recently started playing there for the first time. From my experience, there's plenty of activity. I don't see Reno as dead as others might be saying. However, I wasn't mushing during the slump. For me there's currently more potential RP than I can get to.

RE: Fitness and Whatnot
Stress exacerbates the problem, not only by kicking you out of a healthy routine but by adding in cortisol and other physiologically unhelpful stuff. If you live a life that's in any way complicated, it's hard to keep up.
