Do you genuinely not see how stupid this is?

Hey, look, here you are immediately calling us stupid in your very first post based on words you inserted into @Jeshin's mouth.

Sigh. No. That's a question. In the same sentence you accuse of inserting words into someone's mouth and then do the same thing.

I think that's pretty clear as far as the focus of our community goes. It doesn't really delve into the 'automated systems' component of the criteria, but that's borderline implicit in the genre mention and in the permanent death feature itself.

That's great. It's about clear as mud. Do you know why people get other people to proofread their work? Because when they've written it, they have a hard time spotting the mistakes. It's clear in your head, but that's about it.

I don't hold this community in general in any sort of disdain, though some of the individuals in it are particularly unimpressive.

Then quit acting like it. I'm not calling you a condescending prick because I don't like RPI muds. You're summarizing your perspective, which I can guarantee isn't seen the same way. You make ridiculous statements as if they were fact ('how this has gone', rather than 'how this has gone from my perspective', and YES, in a community that revolves around text-based communication it is absolutely an important distinction, particularly when what you're getting called out for is being a condescending jerk).

I understand what @Thenomain and recently @Sunny have been trying to express in that catering to a specific focus group while still engaging in a lot of broader discourse can send mixed messages.

Then you don't understand at all, because that's not what I am saying. Maybe Theno is, IDK, but that's not my point.

Hey, look, here you are immediately starting to attack us for ...

That's not an attack. That's an attempt to explain that you catch more flies with honey. Because you weren't paying attention then, and you're not paying attention now. Still. Your analogy falls flat. What you've done is walked into a room where everyone is drinking coke, didn't check, and started insulting coke-drinkers because OBVIOUSLY people ought to prefer Pepsi.

ETA: Also, yes. If you came onto a Coke forum and started advertising for Pepsi, I imagine those folks would get pretty annoyed. They're not there to talk about Pepsi. Y'all came into a discussion forum and said you weren't interested in discussion.

Wait. Tell me more! Could you expand on this even further?? With more assumption?

Seconding @Surreality here. Man, you quit being involved on my site because I nuked your Catriona bit. On a site that had just started work, you felt the need to reserve that name. You're a fucking crazy-ass bitch, if your behavior is any indication. You were when we first met, I gave you a second chance, you proved VERY promptly that it was unwarranted. You're no Spider, but the only reason is that you're not effective. Surreality is dead on here, and anyone with two brain cells to rub together can see it.

      Thanks for playing, though.

Edited to add: I wouldn't worry about it too much, Surreality. @VulgarKitten chooses a female that she thinks is 'popular' and attacks them to give herself more social standing. I've seen her attempt to pull this same bull on at least 3 games.

      @Arkandel @Coin

Games did just fine for storytellers (even player storytellers) prior to the introduction of XP for plots for staff. Really, there's been a significant decline in staff storytelling since the introduction of it, really. I'm sure this could be an example of correlation not equating out to causation, but I don't think it is.

The fact is, people will plot and run plot because they want to. I am sure this will work; I've had a number of people volunteer to ST after they were made aware of the fact that we were going to do this. Caused by this policy? Probably not. Willing to step up and show me that people I respect as ST staff will work as ST staff with this policy in place? Yep. I still have a great team. I understand that there are people that don't agree, and that's fine. While I do maintain that I feel that it's unethical (that's never going to change) I recognize that other people don't agree, and I'm not judging anyone for the opinion itself.

There's an established way of doing things that did not used to be done , and I think that while it was certainly a grand experiment, it doesn't work. I'm going back to the way it was.

Sheltering Sky is really, really bad, at least as far as the Changeling sphere goes. Really really bad. The Changeling wiz doesn't get unseelie vs seelie at all, and has really weird ideas (and by weird, I mean he needs to read the fucking books) about how everything works. Dude does not get it even a little bit. I'm sure he'll be happy to not have to deal with our huge group app, at least (not that he seemed like it ever occurred to him that a large group app might need particular things addressed to keep it from overrunning your sphere). Duck is an idiot, he does not understand the game, and my pet rock has more personality and brains.
