@Coin It is also just really, really pretty. It's that game you may never play, but you'd want to leave the book on display anyway. (Maybe this is just me, but I doubt it.)

It Came From The Late Late Late Show - You play actors on a completely improv, shoestring production of some UHF(ask your parents) station's fantasy/sci-fi/horror show.

I have this one somewhere. It is truly the best thing ever. Call a stuntman to take damage, XP for 'acting appropriately stupid' -- it is utterly genius.

Are we about to have the 'anyone playing someone who is a bigot regardless of context just wants to get their secret RL bigotry wank fodder' conversation again? Because it feels like we are. If that's on the menu, someone please confirm, so I can ignore this thread.

@Rinel This is kinda what I was thinking... that the only situation where it might not is if someone automagically manifested whatever they felt (including non-binary options and completely fantastical ones) just by feeling it in the first place.

@Rinel I seriously love them. Love love love. They have seriously saved my ass on organization. I want a mountain of them for the studio and more for the bathroom when I can afford 'em.

They're also an insanely convenient size for the rubbermaid 'brilliance' containers and their lids we replaced the tupperware with, and both are equally clear, so my 'not everything matches-ish' eyetic doesn't flare up. (Also highly recommend those if you need something with good locking lids. We originally got some as 'display boxes' for the shells we collect since they're cheaper than actual display boxes by far, and became similarly addicted to them.)

Eventually, we will acquire a double boiler that is... less old than two or more of me. Our kitchen is 1940s tiny, and that space under the tupperware? All there is for pots and pans. There's not even wall for a rack. 😕 We found a nice, compact, durable, stacking set we're sloooooooooooooooowly getting pieces of when it's on sale that fits our absurdly small space, so we'll eventually pick up the one from that.

    • RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff

@Sparks I swear by those little 'Stori' organizers. Amazon has them. Not super cheap, but sturdy, stackable, and omg, when I got the kitchen drawers sorted with them I was the happiest creature.

I share my sorting adventure from earlier in the year in solidarity. (And for laughs; it is genuinely terrifying and why my husband isn't allowed to put things away any more. It does show those containers and their miracle-working potential, though!) We... inherited a lot of stuff in our kitchen from my grandmother (who owned this house before we moved in), and only this year did my mother allow us to start throwing things out. Only 25 years later. 😐 It was an adventure. (Sadly on pause for a bit, but dental bills. 😕 Further rainbowing is on hold.)

'Sitting properly in a chair is torture.'
...my 33-year-old ass is sitting cross-legged in my chair right this second.
I do it at work, too, sometimes.
      HOW DOES ANYONE SIT NORMALLY

I am laughing, 'cause... YES, THIS. I've never seen it mentioned before that image, too!

The looks I get at office supply places when the first thing I do to see if a chair is comfortable is to sit with one leg tucked under, or both pulled up on the chair, are priceless.

Admittedly, if I could scratch things off my to-do list when they're done by blasting a hole in them, it sounds like it'd be super satisfying.

@Rinel I send all the hugs ever in support of hoping there won't be things like this. I really do. It's something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, and you seem pretty cool. ❤

In all sincerity, I consider it brave as fuck-all to go through hormone treatments of any kind, for any purpose. The ability of those systems to Jekyll and Hyde the hell out of someone are real, terrifying, and emotionally painful unto themselves.

I have one or two friends I trust, really, to talk to much during that four or five days, because they're aware and KNOW not to take me seriously if I explode or start sobbing over nothing (in part because they know I feel horrible about it and will bend over backward to apologize and I do everything I can to make it right, since I'm still responsible for it, whether it's something I can readily control or not).

Fingers crossed nothing similar will ever crop up. Am rooting for you.

@Rinel I absolutely believe it. PMDD is a thing, and it's not fun to have.

I am still pretty galled that the one time I mentioned something about 'issues' during that time, it got the usual 'you're one of the people the board has deemed gross and un-woke, so clearly you are just making a disgusting sexist comment, and not one that accurately reflects your reality', but frankly, I expect it at this point. That's depressing in it's own right, but it is what it is, in the usual vein of 'people will believe whatever they're inclined to believe, and if their initial assumptions are biased toward the ugliest possibility, they're going to be that asshole'.

I just really wish those people would stop trying to pretend to be 'more enlightened than thou' as rote.

(I still secretly pine for the pony I asked Santa for when I was five, however, and understand the pony is way more likely.)

...when you know it's moody-as-fuck PMS week•, and it's still piling on quick and hard in ways you wouldn't handle well on a normal day. It's not fun.

Dental hell is scheduled. For July 31. And they are still calling every fucking day to confirm, reconfirm, and re-re-reconfirm. For something over a month out. Every fucking work day. My gods, please fucking stop. This is not exactly a recipe for less anxiety.

      Determined shitlord is still determined.

Woke up to depressingly shitty work thing this morning, that had been a happy thing when I went to bed. Included: flaily demands and refusal to accept a straight answer.

There is game stuff, too, but none worth going into.

      • Seriously, fuck you with a rusty chainsaw if you think this is a generalized anti-feminist/sexist statement about all women, as some have done before on this board, like the tiny, narrow minds they are. Some people do have real, documented issues with this, as something that really exists in the real world -- and if you're so bloody aware as you present yourselves to fucking be, you know this already -- and I'm one of them. So fuck you really hard, you sanctimonious, 'read only what you want to read into something', pre-judging shits.
