@Ganymede
I have not played 2E much and was never actually subject to a condition, though that was a purposeful choice I tended to avoid situations they would be likely, even the beneficial ones.

RE: Interest/Volunteer Check: Major Multisphere Chronicles of Darkness
My issue with condition is that lets say I am in a scene. My PC gets intimidated,
Old way: I modify actions and ST imposes mechanical sanction if necessary and scene rolls on.
New Way: I get told I have Intimidated or Shaken or whatever they call the condition. I then have to dig out the book either physical copy or digital one look up the effect of that condition, then make a note of said condition, put in the req for the beat for receiving a condition then get back to the scene.TJ sums up the changes excellently it is just he seems them as improvements and I do not, at least not for on line play.

Wow if this keeps up WoD edition wars will be almost as amusing as watching people complain about which version of comic continuity is the best.On a less snarky note even though I vasts prefer OWoD to NWoD I two am in the keep publishing both camp. Both are fun in different way and both have issues, but it all depends on the different flavor you want for an individual campaign or MUSH.

@Skaldia
First off fuck you and that adoring fan base crap.
Two, I don't care what people did or did not do on the way out of a game e-mailing shit about a game to someone that has left a game is bullshit. It is also the reason I give no one on games the ability to do so and on game that require an e-mail I give the one I check maybe once a week instead of one that I actually use.
Three, as a staffer especially a head staffer you might not have supernatural powers but you should be able to get a good feel for the desires of your player base at large. That is the main purpose for things like channels and the various other ooc chatter. Yes there is no good way to resolve a plot like that since regardless of what you do someone will feel left out, but what you should do is announce the plot resolution scene well in advance and not schedule during as someone here put it, the biggest IC social occasion of the year, I can see no reason to put them both at the same except to force people to be excluded from one or the other. -

For me it is more then fluff it does effect how I play the character. the books don;t just list condition and mechanical effect it then gives a few paragraphs on how that condition effects the character as well, that fluff is necessary to then pose properly.
I see conditions as little different in that regard then someone using a power I am unfamiliar with on my char. In that case I would also pause in posing to look up the details on that power., or if I lacked the book in the case of some cross sphere stuff ask staff. -

I can't believe I am saying this or pondering it either for that matter but I would guess like pork rinds, assuming the whole man = long pig thing. -

I fully support him making new games but his flakiness is why I choose not to play any of them.
To me I don't start to really enjoy RPing a character until around the three or four months in, before that it is mostly first meetings and finding a group I enjoy playing with that enjoys playing with me, and various other things that I slog through to get to the expected fun part later.
So while i see nothing wrong with TJ starting then abandoning game, hey if he enjoys that aspect but not the actual running that is what he should do. I also applaud him for being open and upfront about his intentions.
That said I do think it should be noted that it is his tendency so folks can make informed decisions on whether a game is for them or not. -
RE: Optional Realities & Project Redshift
Skimmed most of the last fw pages but I has a question, How is turning of a comments section a bad thing?
Internet comment sections are turly the lowest rung of the communication ladder, right below attempting to fart out words.
Serious go you youtube you will see I am right.
That aside this thread is like watch differing evangelist snipe at each other. -

I have know problem with there being 2E games but why do folks keep harping on the one option to play 1E changing?
Because 1E is a relic. 2E has done such an amazing job for the most part making each game its own thing, trimming the fat, and adding fun new elements to the system as a whole that any time anyone talks about going back I am baffled. I don't think anyone has ever managed to give me an objective answer for their preference either, aside from what can be considered nostalgia or just fear of new shiny things.
I think the second edition mechanics are superior for the most part the story parts for 2nd leave me totally cold.
Also I am somewhat biased because the character I am playing now is not possible in 2nd ed changeling at least not the stuff we have seen of it. -
RE: Dust to Dust (Formerly the nWoD grenade thread)
@Coin
Ahh see here is where the it is just a game comes in for me. I will gladly sacrifice functionality for chasing the ideal. After all worst case scenario game ends and hopefully some people had fun along the way validating it's existence.
I would rather see a game end striving for a goal then last last indefinitely as a tribute to functionality. -
RE: Geist Reconstruction
If you create organizations for Geist they will become hierarchical. because sadly that is what player tend to do.
