@Admiral Or, a TV show like Supernatural/Constantine/Sleepy Hollow/ect which, in my mind is kinda cool. Rituals, artifacts, and all kinds of interesting plot hooks.

There's a definate need for accounting nerds who can also work a computer above a very basic level. I don't know why IT skills and accounting skills are so disconnected in many people.

RE: Demon: The Descent Post-Apoc Game -- Issues and Concerns
@Wizz Zombies AND Mage ... wait, Mages would just wipe out the zombies and we'd just be left with Mage >.<
Zombies AND Mortal+ ... That could work.

@Thenomain Yeah, the 'rocketship' analogy is why I like the concept of a monthly XP floor, and maybe a 'flat award' at some point, like on a yearly or something, everyone gets <X>. I tried to app TR a couple months ago and someone told me 'You'll get 800 XP after a little bit' and I went '... I have no idea where I would SPEND that much XP, why?'
It feels a little 'artificial difficulty,' because at that point you can't make scaled challenges very easily with that much XP, and I like challenges that everyone can get into, but also challenges that are geared towards certain tiers of PC. Rank Neonates wouldn't be fighting a Master Elder Sabbat Tzimisce attacker and his schlatka, and an Elder Gangrel wouldn't give a second look to a shovelhead Pander (other than to one-shot it) when faced with said Tzimisce.
'I'm curious about what's being said here as a problem. In theory if everyone gets 800 xp at some point everyone is the same so, no worry about never catching up to the old guys, or, less worry about that.
In WoD there is always more XP needed, and to say you wouldn't know what to do with 800 is cool, until you have the chance and then go, well, I could do more...
But honestly, it sounds like from the talks there just needs to be a sort of ranking system for PCs so events and the like can be "Power lvl X - X only please". I know that's difficult but, if you think about it... It could work right?

But the douchy, screaming, non law abiding Portland cyclist (bikers ride real bikes that go fast and obey the laws less) is enough of a cliche that there's Portlandia segments dedicated to it. Haha. Oh Spyke.

RE: PRP or SRP
@Coin There was a little mu* I use to play on that the staff use to drop plot all the time. The best was plot where the staff would pop in and "make things happen". It made hanging out in a coffee shop interesting when something would happen plot wise out of no where inside the shop itself or out front that the characters could jump into if they wanted to. For someone like me that would be cool and appreciated.

@TNP Are you talking from the unread posts page? For me I click on the part that says "Replied X amount of time ago" and it takes me to the latest post in the thread, constantly.

Ok... What pony is this?

RE: The importance of large grids for MU*
@Coin I know, I just like asking cause its exciting. I was going to make a joke asking if I had to make a character that sucked at life to get the approval of @il-volpe , but, I don't think the humor its meant to convey translates into text

Continue... more words.
I've peppered these entire forums with stuff about the game I'm working on. It's nWoD, Vampire/Demon/Werewolf.
Lots more information soon, when we start openly advertising!
Did you say demon? >.>

RE: Nightvale Inspired Game
@il-volpe A whinge? Next you're going to say I hurt some feeling because I disagree with your or the point of view? I internet bullied you for not falling in line? Or having an opposing view?
This is where I say:

RE: Nightvale Inspired Game
To make the point that I suck at making in text, I give you Superman vs Doomsday:
As a kid this taught me about the sliding scale of power and that to always remember that there is always someone out there more badass than you. In RP I don't know why we don't think the same. I mean you have a gang of changing breed PCs with approx 600XP each. T1 mortal Hunters armed with pitchforks and torches probably isn't a good choice of enemy / antagonist / ect. (to use nWoD themed examples >.>)
I think @Coin has a valid point in saying:
You're conflating having power with not having weaknesses, which is not the same thing, though. Just saying.

PCs are mortals, but every so often, in turns, players get a chance to take over an NPC batshit Mage and make her do looooopy shit with her awesome powers.
Don't tell @Ganymede, it sounds way tooooooooooo powerful, so, not fun!
-
RE: XP gain
@Ganymede Right, and that's the beauty of the internet and the choices out there, correct?
-
RE: XP gain
@Ganymede I love TR. Yeah I said it...
The beauty of the XP system is that for me I can play a badass Mage, a killer Hunter, a ninja werewolf or insert any combo of things here with a butt load of XP. The best part of this, for someone with a busy life we all end up at the same cap at some point.
I don't have to worry about scheduling in times to meet with PCs to make sure I get my weekly number of votes, I don't have to worry that if my timezone keeps me out of regular RP that when I jump into events with other players I'll be so behind on XP I'll be a hinderance to the group.
I can play as much or as little as I want and "tada" I get XP every week and my PC grows. I think the issue people have with PCs having that much XP is crazy. EVERYONE IS/OR WILL BE AT THE SAME XP LEVEL at some point. If you die, you get your XP. If you are tired of your PC and you want to make a new one, you get your XP. If you want to play LOW XP you make a new PC or you shed half your XP or you don't spend XP. This gives you the choice to do ANYTHING. So where's the beef?
