Fiddling around with Raya now. We'll see how it goes!
I was Pasquale (first one, not the current one) and Esoka (only one) for long enough to remember RP fondly, and Tila for 5 forgettable minutes I'm sure no one remembers.

Why does any PC need more than 1 room, if the issue is grid bloat?
If it's a house that has multiple characters living in it or the PC also has a business that serves another purpose, sure, but the 'I need 10 private rooms' thing seems a like a different problem/a problem that can be solved by staff saying 'you actually don't need 10 private rooms, no.'
I said in the Peeves thread that I feel no compelling need for one and don't utilize them as a social area even on games that have them. I use channels and either get a room of my own PC's to idle in or stick them in a Quiet room.
I don't get anything out of an OOC room that I don't get out of Public/general Chat channels, and on games that have them I generally hide in the quiet room even when I'm not idle, so I'm not spammed.
The more I think about the 'new' trilogy, the more I appreciate a lot of the things the prequels did.
I...do not know how I feel about this.
ETA: But it is mostly due to the arcing issues others have mentioned. For better or worse, those damn things were story with a relatively clear vision, even if it was terribad at times.
@Kanye-Qwest
I long for a time jump and all new PCs/new chessboard but I accept I'm in the vast vast minority. Maybe someday tho!
I'm very curious what the game would even look like with dominion implemented at this point, given that the growth that's taken place outside it would never be comparable to something more gated with more actual checks on armies and lands and stuff. Maybe it's not even desirable if the current elevations are what people want. Idk. It's one more mini-game I have zero interest in but so are lots of things and that's ok.
There were a couple of wars within the past IC decade. It's just hard to track how much they matter in terms of a drag on economics or manpower atm while the mechanics are so loose around everything but resources (which are crazy inflated because they're a mini-game everyone can do all the time without ST staff).
@insomniac7809
I feel like these assholes were not nearly so vocal in 2010 as they were in 2000 (oh, my youth) or now. Maybe even numbers empower them, idk.
Bestest Grandmaster. Loved the RP we had before Esoka trundled off into the mists.

The last two years that I've played with @Three-Eyed-Crow
NOW WE CAN NEVER PLAY AGAIN.
(we will often play again)
But, yes, it was a fine run and I shall treasure the memories of fights about doors and baked goods (and also fantasy adventures).
@mietze said in Staff’s Job?:
@Roz yep. I do love it when wiz staff has very clear and concise expectations that are shared when they're looking to hire though. Always a major major plus when I see that!
Just setting a clear 'this shit is your job and this other shit is not your job' line goes so, so far as a sanity maintainer.
@Wretched said in TS - Danger zone:
@Ghost The first person I TS'd with did the you thing, it was something I 'learned' early in muing, but it wasn't just for TS, basically any time I went into a one on one scene I went to 'you' posing.
This used to be WAY more common in two-person scenes, sexytimes ones or otherwise. I remember it being the norm when I started in the ancient times of the late 90s but even then it felt like...close to 50/50 in terms of whether people used it or not or liked it or not. It's one of those unspoken and not entirely intuitive 'rules' in the hobby (the big one I generally think of is posing in present-tense).
I don't think I've ever had a legit Jill sighting. I just know the legend. I feel like I've missed out.
So much fun to sit in a meeting for 30 minutes that's all about a department totally unrelated to yours...except they keep referencing 'changes to make all procedures the same' without giving you any details. Except this Other Department is the problem child in a bunch of trouble with regulators so you're pretty sure your life is going to become miserable even though we're doing everything right and not failing our audits unlike SOME PEOPLE.
@Kestrel said in Spars and fights:
I generally tend to lose emote fights if they aren't based on mechanical decision-making, because I'm usually the person who cares less about the outcome.
This was me on a consent-based games where all the sparring-type outcomes were entirely posed. I like dice now! I tend toward opposed rolls or combat with a pre-determined end, on something like FS3.
I've been making character playlists since the dark ages of ITunes. I do it for myself, as a character-building exercise. There are old ones I've saved that were never shared because the game wikis didn't really have that capability back then. They never need to be. They're for me. I usually have music on when I RP anyway so it built out of that pretty naturally. If I can share the Spotify link on my character page I do, but that's secondary.
I love discovering new music through the playlists other folks make and I do listen to them when I come upon them. They're non-essential fluff but it's a brand of fluff I enjoy.
Mostly my desktop at home with BeipMU client. From work occasionally on my phone via Ares webportal. I have an old laptop I take out in bed now and again but I rarely do anything more taxing than watching channel chatter on it while streaming something.
