@auspice Or in a way that intentionally traumatises innocent people, like the frequent occurrence of people jumping in front of trains.

RE: Random links
Technically this is game-related, but it's also a random link. So deal with it.

Unless you think it's too soon to see each other's mucus-dripping nostrils and stuffy noses and red eyes and shit
The true test of any relationship.

RE: TMC
If it was just "a half dozen game owners [...] posting regularly" then it was probably decided that it wasn't worth the work to maintain it.

RE: RL things I love
@thenomain 'Noirpunk' conjured images of Blade Runner to my mind. I've no idea if this is accurate, but that's what I got.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
@arkandel Given how indecisive I am at the best of times, I don't think the high-stress environment of a Starcraft tournament would be any better. I'd get worse lag from brain-to-game than by using a keyboard.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
@arkandel That's what you get for not having four hands.

I think that if anything killed interest in Mass Effect, it was the ending of ME3.
Which turned into poor sales for Andromeda... which was only made worse by the bugs and so forth. It started with ME3's ending, and the final nail in the coffin was Andromeda's terribad release.

Not my shoes. I like my shoes. They can have my degenerating lumbar spine though.

RE: How to use Potato MU Client
@ixokai I get delays occasionally, but only on a few select places and I have to assume it's a bit of a connection lag between me and the game. Else it acts the same as any other client.

No, I'm not "too young to be tired all the time." I work long hours, raise three children, and go fuck yourself I'm tired.

RE: MU Things I Love
@saosmash But if nobody loses, then how can anyone win?!?!?!?!?!
(Note: This is sarcasm.)

Interestingly that is almost what the conversation was about. Except more modern economics and business accounting tax structures which they know nothing about but they watched business movies like Wolf of Wallstreet and thought they did.
I would never have thought of Wolf of Wallstreet as a business movie...

@arkandel They were like fourteen... but they also weren't really keen on the whole 'parental supervision' thing either...

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@ganymede To be fair, arguing to the death is basically the entire plot. So at least it's on brand.

@sunny Do we have the same mother?

In a forum that's largely about presenting ideas for others to comment in it would be counter-productive to discourage the concept of 'attacking' them. That's what peer reviews are about, after all; you invite conversation
Peer reviews are a central part of my job, and I can assure you that not making the other person feel attacked is an integral and essential part of a peer review. Read any of the million articles on effective peer reviews if you don't believe me.
There is a vital difference between a criticism and an attack.
On the other hand people that submit things for peer review are, on the whole, expecting criticism and willing to accept and embrace it. Discussion of this kind requires that two-way-street thinking, that many 'average' people don't invest in learning. So we don't see as much of it here.
