do you ever feel like TS doesn't fit the game

I don't work with children or animals. So if I'm playing (or playing with) either of those things, then TS is a big big big no. If I'm playing an adult person in any setting designed around its own internal logic (as in a form of 'realism') then TS isn't off the table, so long as I'm reasonably justified in believing all other participants are adults also playing adult persons.

My state is on fire. People are losing homes, and before it's all over I'm sure there will be loss of life. Naturally, the political big wigs (who cut the rural fire service budget by seventy-five percent this year) are blaming... the Greens for fearmongering. While homes are burning and livelihoods are going up in smoke and ash.

I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't writing anything inappropriate with a minor

And how would you do that? Is joining a game that says "no minors allowed" sufficient, or do you require more 'proof'?

@Ganymede said in TS - Danger zone:

Approaches? Varieties? They change with each character I make. They all have their stories. And, of course, those characters are attached strongly to whatever theme and setting is available.

Well sure, but we're not just talking about the characters. Do your attitudes and 'desires' form the foundation for your TS (not just IC sex) or are your attitudes and 'desires' find their form from the game itself?

Entirely. A WoD game allows for different play than a BSG game, for example.

To expand on this further, does the TS... libido, for lack of a better term, change or just the approach?

@Arkandel I think there's a slight mismatch in your first question. Character promiscuity and TS habits aren't always linked. Promiscuous characters don't need to engage in TS at all, and one person could play several monogamous characters.

@Ghost said in TS - Danger zone:

What is the definition of a SAFE TS partner, and if TS is just creative writing why is safety an important factor?

A person that sees TS in the same light as you do. The fact that we've had several reasonably reliable reports of stalkers, crossing games and crossing into RL, indicates that just because X-person believes that TS is only creative writing, Y-person isn't guaranteed to share the same opinion.

@Ghost ITT people have opinions and other people disagree with those opinions and suddenly argument and then Magee typed stuff faster than I could play 'whack a dipshit' with their fingers as the targets.

      The usual.

Ah, yes. I remember the 'put everything in gelatin' craze. It hit us a little later, but almost every 'posh' meal my mother would make would be contained in gelatin for a long time.

@Rinel I don't think you'll be able to get a reasonable disccusion because @Tinuviel just doesn't like TS, is what I get from most of their quoted answers I see in this thread.

I don't TS either. I just don't find @Tinuviel 's arguments on the matter compelling.

You don't have to. They're not arguments. They're my views. This isn't a "change my mind" thread, it's a discussion on the various opinions we have. Not everything is an argument.

@Auspice If it makes you feel better I don't recall you ever telling me anything about your sex life or anyone else ever telling me any such information either.

I think more people know about @Auspice having a sex life from her bitching about someone talking about it than people actually talking about it

... damn, dude. Tape a filter over your mouth, maybe that'll help.

Magee couldn't find their mouth with two hands, a mirror, and clearly written instructions.

Maybe if someone TSed him about it enough.

I'll just FTB, since that concept is utterly baffling.

@magee101 I quite enjoy the occasional TSing, as it happens. I just have limits for when I feel it's appropriate.
As this is a discussion, rather than a debate or argument, I'm simply stating my views. I don't care what other people do, or how they do it, or with whom.

The wonderful thing about being me, in fact, means I don't have to give a fuck about anyone else's business.

I still think the TS bit is unnecessary, but whatever.

      What does that mean?

      When is TS necessary?

It isn't. But I'm of a mind that those running a plot should only do what is necessary for the furtherance of that plot. If you don't need TS to show that two characters did the dirty, don't do it.

But that's a peeve, rather than anything that I expect or want action on.
