So, again, I propose that we move the conversation back to Optional Realities, and the subject matter of our October content share.

Here's an idea, perhaps you should do just that. And by that, I mean you should do JUST that. Only talk about OR. When you read a post, assume it's being written with the best of intentions and the purpose is to debate OR and the content you posted regardless of how you interpret it. Only answer those comments that directly pertain to OR and the updates you post.

Don't whine about being attacked. Don't attack back. Don't jump off that bridge just because someone else jumped off it first. If you want to get the conversation back to OR then converse about OR. Stop playing the high road card then take the low road in the very next post and whine 'But he called me names first!; It's bullshit.

Was the 'mini game' a required part of the game? Did it become the focus of the game? Was it set up in a way to encourage RP while undertaking the crystal gathering or was it just a sort of 'grindy' activity that was there?

No, it wasn't required. No, it didn't encourage RP while cutting crystal since it was a mostly solo activity (2 people at most). It literally could takes hours of 'flying' over a coded grid just to find a landing spot (stuck alone in your sled). Most people scripted it I imagine and did something else in another window.

This was entirely canon for the series since Crystal Singers were paranoid, antisocial assholes for the main part who cared about crystal more than people (naturally, the main characters is the exception to this. mostly). But the less RP there was, the less reason not to go hunt down crystal which led to less RP ad infinitum.

There used to be a few games based on McCaffrey's Crystal SInger books. The two games I know of (and played on one) were very code heavy. The Singers would take their cutter, get into their sled, and go out into the mountain ranges to find and cut crystal. Finding a claim could take a while. Cutting the crystal could take a while. Just as in the books, the amount and color of crystal was kept track of and compared to other Singers.

Really, it took a lot of time for those inclined to play the game within the game and took it away from RP which was supposedly the point of a Mu.

I try not to play it as too soon when it is literally the tenth horrific thing he has witnessed in six months, he would have to be a bit touched to not think of it as business as usual.

Perhaps something similar to SAN loss a la Call of Cthulhu. Though that would mean eventually losing the character if the degeneration goes too far. But it would be a lot harder to consider it business as usual if each time you can feel your mind slipping away.

Masquerade has been around so long it's difficult to figure out if two people overlap. I played a Silver Fang back when Riddle ran the sphere. If I remember right, the alpha at the time was Leo? He ended up leaving. Then someone else became alpha and that didn't last long. Then I said sure, I'll be alpha. It made sense ICly.

      Biggest mistake I ever made.

@WTFE What is wrong with MSB is that we don't have the rules to the WORA drinking game posted anywhere. I don't even remember most of them. The only one that sticks in my memory - probably because it's the most commonly occurring of them all - is:

Take a drink whenever someone says they're only posting for their own amusement.

I'll be a dick here, though, so long as people are going to approach me with vitriol and insults. It's a purposefully ironic choice. Maybe it's not an effective choice? In either case, I've sort of already committed to it.

And if everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you jump too?

Christ. You're not just a dick, you're an immature ten year old. What a wonderful representative for your site.

My 'unread posts' notification is flaky. Sometimes it delays 5, 10, 30 seconds before saying there are unread posts (the situation is not there were one and then someone just posts but rather hour worth) and sometimes it doesn't go on at all till links get clicked and pages loaded.

But, non-constructive feedback is calling us racists, elitists, bigots, idiots, and whatever else just because our site caters to a specific niche. It's inane. I've been happy to explain our position, and politely so, when I'm not approached with vitriol.

Funny how not a single person has done that. Any insults you've received - over the top or not - has not been because of your site but because of how you portray yourselves here. Your site has prompted debate. Your site's posters have prompted flame wars.

It's an important distinction and one you obviously fail to grasp.

      How shocking.
