I have a pair of Vibes from my customer service days. I can tell you they are AWESOME and very comfortable to wear for extended periods. Expect anywhere from 75% to 95% of unnecessary background noise to be filtered out/muted. I used them when we were sent to work from home because at the time I had that asshole neighbor that would cruise through the complex for no damn reason, blaring his music and revving his motor. He would do this for 1-2 hours in the middle of the day in the middle of the pandemic. Calls to the complex management got nowhere, so I finally started calling the cops to report him for excessive noise and speeding.

Customer: Hi, I'm just checking to see if my account is active yet!

Me: Do you have your account number?

Customer: Oh, no! I just got the car two days ago. Can't you look me up by my social security number?

Me: Ah... it will take upwards of 1-2 weeks to receive all the paperwork from the dealership and get the account populated.

Customer: But why? You're Volkswagen, shouldn't you have it already?

Me: ...I'm sorry but we are a finance company that is one of many offering financing through the dealership, which is a franchise. We are not the same company, and neither of us are Volkswagen directly. The dealership has you sign the paperwork, then submits it to us along with any down payment, and we use that information to populate your account. That said, they generally will not send the paperwork to us until their title clerk has finished processing your initial title and registration application with the DMV. This means it can take 3-5 business days for them to even send us the paperwork, and we request 7-10 business days upon receipt to populate the account. This usually occurs within 1-2 weeks of purchase.

Customer: But you're Volkswagen! Why does it take so long?!

@macha I have no friends in the state I live in, I'm afraid. My older son is of legal drinking age already but lives in another state, and my youngest will be 18 in a few weeks but has no interest in alcohol.

@macha You know, I'm not usually a wine person.. but there are a few of those that I would really be interested in trying. I wish they offered a flight option for small servings with multiple choices.

@moth I am still boggled and tickled both by the fact that my kids' generation only knows Snoop Dogg as 'that dude that bakes with Martha Stewart' and not 'hardcore rapper that was put on trial for murder while smoking enough weed to kill a blue whale'.

I am finally finally finally getting tested for ADHD. I had the preliminary meeting today where we discussed my background, history, and reasonings for why I want to be tested. We talked about the testing itself, how long it would take, and when I could expect to receive results on it, and when I would hear from the PA again to schedule the next meeting.

So. In a month or two, I may not have to solo self-manage myself and my symptoms, I may finally have some help in that regard... which could mean I can stop being exhausted all the time from exerting so much effort in self-management and coping skills. The light has appeared!

@aria One of the 'spree buys' I did was of the Blackram Family... then Ivy and Petrichor, Petrichor on his own, and Ivy on her own. I am seeking out the best framing for this because I am moving into a new apartment and I want my 'wall of Arx' to look damn good!
