RE: RL things I love
To be honest, I was mainly looking for an excuse to use a picture of Rita Moreno today. Now I am happy.

@Coin Nah. I've lived in both countries, now almost an exact number of years in each. There's a reason I don't live in Ecuador. Concerning what I think of Ecuador, you can take Rita Moreno's song in West Side Story and apply it to that cankerous sore of a country.
Except Rita wore the skirt better.

@Arkandel What? You've never heard of the Parthenon LARP meetup? Where have you been, dude?

RE: RL things I love
@Coin I'm afraid that an Ecuadorean superhero would probably not be a very good superhero at all. 90% of Ecuador, outside of the landscape and geography, sucks major monkey balls.

RE: RL things I love
So the DC Rebirth Christmas Special has a story that begins with Superman and Batman fighting the Rainbow Monster of Cotopaxi... in Quito, Ecuador. Which is my home country. This is pretty rad, because usually the only other time I've seen Ecuador referenced in popular media that I can recall was... two random shout-outs in the Golden Girls (of all places.)
However, imagine my disappointment when I found out that the Rainbow Monster WASN'T President Rafael Correa. Ah, well, you can't have everything, right?
I also note Batman is yelling at people in English. This is bound to confuse everybody. I love it.

For fuck's sake, 2016. There are only 17 days left. Give it a fucking rest already.

RE: DC Rebirth
This is... intriguing. I hated the new 52 with the burning passion of a thousand suns. But most of that was not because of the concept itself, but because DC bungled the implementation, couldn't get its act together, chased its best talent away and then hired awful writers like Lobdell, Pfeiffer, Finch and Nocenti to vomit the nineties all over the characters.
That being said, the idea for the New 52 had merit, if it had been well implemented.
Like I said, this β¦ intrigues me.
Oh yes. Yes, it does.
EDIT: Have a speedy recovery that sucks

RE: DC Game Wanted
@Cupcake That would work, too. Oh for a game like that.
It's not likely to come, I'm afraid

RE: DC Game Wanted
I want a Young Justice/Teen Titans game, myself. Maybe expanded to the teen Titans concept in the movie where Starfire is a sort of headmistress of a teen/young hero training team. Bring in some of the JLAers as mentors like in YJ. That'd be pretty cool.
Alas.

RE: RL Anger
... I just had an elderly client on the phone. He kept calling me βmaβamβ and at one point he said I βsure had a purdy voice.β
I thought to myself, βWell, I could say my name and make this INFINITELY more awkward, or just take care of any questions and let him go.β I chose the latter. But people are sure going to be puzzled if he calls again and asks for the βlady with the purdy voice.β

Yes, by all means, winter, go ahead and make me sick just when I have a major christmas gala with an opera company and a gig singing the National Anthem at a major sports venue coming up around the corner. I hate you too.

RE: RL Anger
I guess we could take the orange goblin as a cautionary tale about how much power we choose to give to government. We never think about what will happen when someone who is completely wrong for the job has access to the power we have freely and gladly given.
And then we realize we need to ask whether giving them that much power was good or even right in the first place.
Welcome to thinking on principle. We've avoided doing it for decades. From now on, it will determine our survival as a Republic.

RE: Coral Springs
Oh, it is a compliment. The place has sparked my interest since the Spring, things just haven't worked out for me to check it out... but I think I will drop by fairly soon.

RE: RL Anger
Thanks everybody. I'm not entirely sure how I'm doing. But thanks.

RE: Dead Celebrity Thread
The Shitshow that is 2016 continues to take my childhood away. Actress Tammy Grimes, known to many 70s/80s kids as that voice actress who did one of the most heartbreaking voiceovers in the role of Molly Grue in the Last Unicorn, has died. October 31st.
