I always tell people they have to at least get to the Festival before making any judgments on the game.
And to take the warning at the beginning seriously.

Carmageddon TDR 2000 is free on Gog for the next 35 hours or so.

Darwin Project has a free open Beta weekend on steam. I will be streaming this at some point, but if you watch on my Mixer link you can vote for the outcome of what I do to people as show director.

Free to play, great game mechanics. You don't even need to be that good at FPS even though it is an FPS game.

Only Free for a Limited Time, you will probably have to buy it eventually. It's sort of like a free weekend if I read it right.

It is free through the weekend, but you keep it forever, unlike standard Free Weekend games. If you click the original link there's a ticker banner above a "watch developer play" type window. Apparently this is to celebrate the launch of some other game.
Looks like you can pick it up as late as 2/8/18

The Witcher series is on sale on Steam. Witcher 3's GotY Edition is also on sale, so make sure to grab that one rather than the stock version. Whole series for right around $25 as opposed to the usual $70($80 with GotY).
Sale lasts until 11 February, iirc.

You should. Then we could play. I plan to pick it up.
(Because a friend keeps telling me how good it is and I do like Endless Legend because I enjoy tactics style play.)And $20 is a really good deal.
