I'm in the middle of Season 2 of GLOW and I love it. I love it just as much as the first season. It's fantastic....

With that said, they totally lost me on Debbie this go around. I loved her in Season 1 -- complex, angry, and with all of that shown on screen, with zero attempts to mitigate any of her perfectly justifiable reactions. But this season? After the bungalow scene? Fuck you, Debbie. Really, fuck you. And a half-hearted gesture of apology you tried to foist off on someone else to get them to do? Yeah, I'm kind of out of sympathy for you, girl.

I have not seen it come up here but if anyone has, then I'm just repeating things but - if you have Netflix, check out the Frankenstein Chronicles. It is exceptionally well done.

Is this thread for bad tv, too? Because I have watched that Teen Titans trailer and oh my god what the what. When even turning off all the lights on set can't hide how bad your wigs are...

@kanye-qwest I haven't watched it, is it just the trailer or the actual show too? I don't know if it is or when it's coming out either.

@arkandel I'm not going to watch the show, they want like $8 a month for their streaming service.

Just the trailer. Show comes later.

P.S.: Cloak and Dagger is way, way, waaaaaaaaaaay better than my expectations. Freeform actually did good.

Freeform has actually had some pretty kick ass programming.

Is anyone else watching Dietland? It's excellent, and the aftershow hosted by Aisha Tyler called Unapologetic is also great. The whole time isn't spent talking about the show; they discuss issues of interest from an intersectional feminist perspective.

Sharp Objects on HBO is so far so good and very much like the novel.

The girlfriend and I stopped watching because we couldn't really watch more than one episode at a time. Too intense. And then the whole pro-choice v. pro-life legistative clusterfuck happened here and it just... it was too much. Between the media, the actual marching, manifesting, and... yeah. I'll watch it eventually.

It doesn't help that a lot of the tactics that they use in the show/book to appropriate children are lifted directly (as per Margaret Atwood's own words) from tactics used by the military dictatorship here in Argentina in the 70s.

@coin Yeah, what got me is the realistic, plausible way they were handling things.

"Don't discredit what they said, discredit them"

"Better never means better for everyone... It always means worse, for some."

It all sounds like things people would legitimately say, ways they would actually handle this stuff. It makes it real instead of surreal.

At least it looks like he will be in costume a bit more. Luke Cage being out of costume makes sense since he never did the secret ID mask thing but if you are gonna have a hero ID name I kinda want a costume.

Man even bringing Constantine on the cast couldn't get me watching Legends this past season. I forced myself through previous ones and hated myself for it.

Bring back Wentworth Miller and get rid of Caity 'I don't know how human mouths work' Lotz and then we'll talk.

I really like legends, it and Supergirl are the only two DC shows I watch, though I will a good check of my enjoyment are the obscure DC characters that make appearances. If they throw in a Slam Bradley or Crimson Avenger (either version) appearance I would promise to watch it forever.

@auspice I honestly loved this season of Legends for being just. so. dang. goofy. It being so unserious made it much more entertaining on the whole.

Before, it was trying to be serious and failing and falling totally flat to the point of none-fucks-given. Embracing the absurdity, taking it out to tango, and being completely ridiculous works for it much better, at the very least. It's stupid, sure, but it's very cheerfully stupid in a way that somehow became endearing. It gets increasingly goofy and self-mocking until the finale, which... I did not know I had been waiting all my life to see that, but I apparently was.

Also, this season was like a love letter to my childhood with all the references and parodies. They hit me square in the inner child like whoa.

                                      Oh fucking well.

I didn’t care for it at first, and probably wouldn’t have kept watching past the first two episodes, but keep watching past the first two episodes.

@thenomain The more I watch, the less I like it. There's a few standout characters (The executioner, the prince) but the rest just don't... grab me. Also the king's voice should have been regal. Having a Patrick Stewart-like voice deliver the lines he does would have been pure gold.
