Piece of shit internet people who consider themselves hilarious (yet noble, caring safe space) people to bag on someone for having a cause, but never stop to consider the reason for the cause could be related to personal trauma.

Just a polite reminder and request that given the nature of the cause and personal trauma at issue, which was raised elsewhere, that such discussions of the same and how to prevent it carry on elsewhere.

Covid. I have tickets to great seats to see Bill Bailey tomorrow in Cardiff. My daughter got pinged. We are not going.

        Anyone want tickets?

I'm sick and feeling worse than a simple head cold. I'm boosted so not at all worried but getting tested for Covid is just the safe and smart thing to do.

ON NEW YEAR'S EVE? HAH! Seriously, fuck you universe. Couldn't resist twisting the knife a little.

I know many many people who got all three vaccines and even had covid last year, who are getting covid.

Disclaimer: I think the vaccines are keeping the illness more mild.

That being said, I think you are making the right choice not to discount it as just a cold. It could be covid, but hopefully it will be mild covid if so.

My thoughts are with you, feel better.

@kk Oh, I'm not ruling out Covid. I'm just not worried about ending up with a severe case if it is. It would be nice to know though, especially since if it is, I need to notify some people.

Oh, totally and I didn't think that you were ruling it out or intend to imply such.

My dog has been living with my parents because my partner and I have been struggling to move somewhere that allows dogs for a variety of reasons. He's been with my parents for way too long, I don't disagree with that. I have almost constant anxiety about it, honestly, and I've been desperately trying not to pass that on to my partner.

For some reason my mom picks tonight, during the holidays, in the middle of winter, right before a blizzard is expected, to be like 'since you haven't found a place you can take your dog yet, you should find him a new permanent home, take him to the shelter, or find a rescue to surrender him to.'

Happy fucking New Year to me, I guess.

If either you or your partner have any kind of mental health diagnosis, you can try to have him registered as an emotional support animal or psychiatric service dog. One of the criteria for PSDs are usually 'helps me maintain healthy routines' or something similar, and then it doesn't matter whether they normally allow animals or not. You can take him anywhere.

Racism isn't Tinkerbell. It doesn't need you to believe in it for it to exist.

@PuppyBreath @Derp is right. My boy is an ESA. I got a letter from my therapist, though if you don't have one currently, there are services where you can take a test and a licensed mental health pro will do it.

Okay. So I am trying to make money outside of my current (shitty) job and side hustle. I need to get a new work/battlestation set up, with the new job and all.

                              -I can not donate Plasma.
-I can not online teach Chinese kids English (all the reputable sites require more degree/certs than I have)

The only even MILDLY workable option would be OnlyFans. Which -while valid and all, I'm a little too inhibited to think I'd be any good at. I know, you don't have to show your face.

It can be a learning curve as far as figuring out how to gauge if an offer actually is good enough pay for time/distance but once I did I made decent $$ with instacart.

@mietze The problem there lies with the ankylosing spondylitis. If there are stairs involved, that's a nope.

Wouldn't recommend it then. Partially bc you can usually see if its an apartment but won't know stair situation on houses but also for the lifting!

Check for any transcription work online? They don't pay great, but as a MUer you likely have speedy typing rates which pays off for that.

Woke up with a fever today.

                                        Turns out it's Covid.

Not a good start to 2022.

New apartment was supposed to be a good change.

Instead, it's been constant road noise keeping me up while trying to sleep to the extent that I feel like I have to drug myself to get a good night's sleep because the soundproofing in the unit is so abysmally bad.

I have fantasies of booking a hotel room just to get a good night's sleep. I'm tired all the time, and just want to cry. Shouldn't have left the old place. Living in a laundry room was better than sleeping on a highway.

@solstice What is your budget like because there are some sound proofing options that should be able to mitigate 30% of your noise for 1000 USD with a normal sized bedroom.
