First off, the game's tutorials are basic as fuuuuuuuuuuck. Apparently there are extensive help-files buried in the PC version of the game. Those don't exist if you got it for console, and double-don't exist if you bought the digital version (ahem). And all the tutorials I've found on the internet to date have been kind of shit, because see above.

Second, locations are no longer geared to character level. Difficulty increases the further East and especially South you go. You are not given a meaningful warning about this but you are given quests that send you into Super Mutant Suicider territory while you're still carrying a BB gun and uncustomized wet toilet paper armor.

Do I still like the game? Absolutely I did. But casual it is not.

Lies... I'm a casual gamer and that game was easy to learn. Where's the hard part? And spoiler alert... If you shoot the nuke in the suicide mutant's hand he dies before he gets to you while usually killing all his friends... JUST SAYING.

I'm a very casual gamer and I enjoy it very much. Now I have hit spots where I died a lot and went IM TAKING MY DOG AND GOING HOME TO GET MY POWER ARMOR AND YOULL BE SORRY!!! So that has happened. Only once though. And I've killed 4 legendary things and I'm only level 14!

I just need more copper damnit.

Once you get rich, you can buy shipments of 25 copper from at least two weapon vendors. Helps when playing electrician.

That scrapper perk is where its at, mixed with making veggi starch (farming/cooking) for adhesive... You'll never need to buy anything.

The Scrapper perk is nice, but if you are going to have your dog only ever with you, you want Lone Wanderer and Attack Dog. (Since Dogmeat doesn't count as a companion).

By "dedicated," do you mean "gamer who will avoid his/her responsibilities in order to play the game"? Who will abjure human contact, normalcy, and sexual congress for a game?

I have never found an open-world game difficult to learn. Ever. I find them difficult to continue at times because the gameplay and story get boring, or I lose motivation with the character I put together.

My favorite sidequest involved Longneck Lukowski's Cannery, south of Salem Witchcraft Museum. I ran into a random settler who told me about Longneck Lukowski's cannery. Go take a look around!

Oooh what is everyone else's favorite sidequest? I am a big fan of the Cabbot House chain.

So far my favorite side quest involves the USS Constitution being landlocked on a building. Don't know why but I found that entire quest chain fun as hell and pretty hilarious.

I like the side quest where your son gets kidnapped and you look for him. It would have been really cool if that had the depth of choice that a main quest would have, especially Like the one in New Vegas.

@Thenomain As one of my friends continues to tell me... every time I actually stumble across a bit of the 'find Shaun' quest, my instinctive response is 'Who is this Shaun they want me to find?'.

The whole outcome of the find Shaun quest was ridiculously obvious. I mean the part with Kellogg kind of surprised me, but only because I thought they'd take a different route to explain his being there. The obvious route.

Also did anyone get creepy pedo vibes from the old man? I mean. He made me really uncomfortable.

Funny thing about Shaun, despite Codsworth saying his name, you can't name your player character Shaun, or any variation of the name. Well, you can name them that, but Codsworth won't call you that, he'll call you Sir instead.

Huh I didn't know that Dogmeat didn't count as a companion, I usually play without dogmeat and just take lone wanderer cuz, stimpacks are expensive, and I don't need companions trying to melee a Deathclaw.

I am just glad that modding finally has gotten some decent face mods and body mods into it for both sexes but my girlfriend is very much asking when she is getting me back from Fallout 4 these days

Tempest Line on Youtube has a decent showing each week of some of the better Fallout 4 mods that have come out. He's done quite a few on body mods if you're still looking.
