I can't get into Kill la Kill at all, the art style is just not my cup of tea to an extent that I haven't been able to make it through episode 1 yet.
It's very retro-styled. The art style (and plot) draws from Go Nagai's Cutey Honey, Getter Robo, and Devilman Lady.
There's a bit of Leiji Matsumoto and Osamu Tezuka in there as well - the father of the family Ryuuko lives with looks like he fell out of Tezuka's Black Jack, while Ragyo looks like an insane, evil Leiji Matsumoto heroine, like Maetel or Queen Emeraldas. Ryuuko has horns and exposes herself like Devil Lady.
The SS Naked Sun is basically Space Battleship Yamato Nudist Beach Edition.
Ryuuko is also a little like Kekko Kamen in that she is a scantily clad superheroine fighting at a school.
It is also vaguely similar to Hideaki Anno's Gunbuster.
The whole story is also similar to a retro '80's - '90's anime that you all must watch called Project A-Ko. A-Ko is Ryuuko and Bii-ko is Mako. They even have -kos after their names.

This is an English Dub of Project A-ko. The hilariously bad voice acting makes it 20% cooler, as Rainbow Dash from MLP would say.

I couldn't get into Kill la Kill's story. I usually like Kazuki's stuff, but I couldn't get into it. It even had trigger behind it, still couldn't get into it. Just didn't do it for me. That being said, having got into the new season of anime yesterday, reporting.
Active raid - Was totally not what I was expecting but i'm going to watch it. So it turns out that it's going to be more comedy and politics than I thought, but I think i'm okay with that because it's not in your face about it. I feel confident about this series just from the first episode. A series about cops that fight in exosuits while handling the politics of being cops and a spy that thinks nobody else knows she's a spy while everyone else is very aware why she's there. It's funny.
Musaigen no Phantom World - Also not what I expected, this is a lot like haruhi. Deconstructionist. Stupid. But fun. It's not going to take itself terribly serious I don't think. Though that's a little bit of a worry too. After the first episode, there's only so many meme's they can wring out of the three main characters and that does seem to be their primary driving force. The backstory here isn't mentioned because it doesn't seem to actually matter. You're kind of like 'Here's a monologue about what happened' and bam, here's some boobs bitches. Well okay t hen. Guess that earlier shit don't matter. So they can't exactly rely on the basic premise of their setting to carry this show. I wonder if they can do it.

I've seen A-Ko, I've seen all the Gunbuster stuff, I've seen Battleship Yamamoto, and I still found nothing intriguing about Kill la Kill.
I'm going to chalk that one up as just 'Not for me' and move on.
Second season of Gate is coming out soon, looking forwards to that one.
-
I'm waiting for the new season to really get a few episodes in so I can enjoy watching a few episodes back-to-back. I hate starting a show I like, and then I have to wait for the second ep for a week or so.
Meanwhile, I'm watching Galaxy Express 999 for the fifth time. It's a very good retro series. It's a rather dark show, opening up [SPOILERS]
with Tetsuro, the young male protag, having his mother killed by a creepy robot dude, but it is softened somewhat by some comedic elements, like the interactions between Tetsuro and the 999's conductor. The conductor is a hilarious guy, but he can kick some serious ass in a pinch.
I'm kinda interested in this Sushi Police show that's supposed to be coming out soon. It's wonderfully topical, since it is about the runup to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games, but I'm afraid it's gonna be hella cringey on the premise that it seems to be about people who can't make sushi properly. I can already see the potential "Bwahaha, stupid Gaijin(foreigners)!" jokes a mile off. I might watch it and give it a chance, or maybe read what people have to say about it.
-
Okay, I started watching Active Raid. It's pretty good. The policewoman was using her Oculus VR helmet on the train and was reading people trolling on the Internet. Very snazzy. Very topical and current.
The OP is very nice, too. It's got a heavy soul-inspired beat and vocals, reminiscent of Erykah Badu or Macy Grey.
Is anyone else watching Ansatsu Kyoushitsu - the show about the kids trying to kill the friendly neighborhood tentacle monster? I expect there'll be lots of shots of girls (and perhaps boys) wrapped in tentacles, which will be neato.

Reporting from the front.
Gate second Season: Gate's second season is not disappointing. Actually it is a little, Rory only spent 3 seconds in this episode, I look forward to seeing more of Rory in future episodes, because I don't care about any of the new people. Looks like we're finally gonna get to the war phase this time around and even this episode seems to be leading up to that. Can't wait to see what happens next episode (And hopefully more of Rory).
Bubuki Buranki: The first episode was boring as fuck. Honestly. Sure there was some fighting, kids with intelligence weapons and this government organization that fights back against them, but your main character has as much personality as a piece of paper and that's a problem. Gonna give this one more episode and if it don't pick up gonna drop it. I can only handle so much whiny protagonist.
Divine Gate: Not impressed. Apparently some people got powers based on the 6 elements as per Asian mythology. If you get all 6 you can open the divine gate and have your wish come true. Honestly it was boring. It didn't hold my attention. The combat scenes weren't that great, the back story wasn't that well established and they didn't do anything in the first episode that I thought would make anyone want to continue watching the series.
Prince of Stride: Alternative: I don't normally watch these kinds of shows (Sports). I don't usually like them. However, I am going to watch this one. It was really good, the first episode. It was exciting. Which is saying something for a sports anime and me. The premise is a parkour/relee sport called stride and a high school's club reopening. I like it so far. It appears to be about the desire of 3 people to rebuild a once famous stride club.
Oshiete! Gyaruko-Chan (AKA Oshiete! Galko-Chan): This is the season's mini-series. Short 7 minute episodes that feature a teen girl in high school and her friends. She gets asked weird questions during the course of the series and it details her reactions and answers. It's hilarious. Highly recommended.
Dimension W: While it's too early to really tell, this seems ok. So a guy makes an endless power supply that runs off another dimension and collectors go and retrieve illegal versions of these power supplies. The guy who made this power supply is betrayed by the people who funded it and so he destroys it(? maybe, shit if I know, that's what it gives the impression of doing). But don't worry, there's a robot daughter.
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar: Every season needs an SAO clone. Unlike SAO, this one is a lot more realistic personally. So you get dropped into the middle of a strange place and don't know what you're doing. Well now you gonna learn, but you still ain't that good. Personally, I like it. Watch it if you ever wished SAO was about the people who got stuck in ALO and weren't overpowered badasses and were just trying to get by.
Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut: I don't even. There's more of this shit? Fuck. Guy falls in bathhouse, sees girl naked, girl challenges guy to duel, girl can't beat guy, girl now loves guy. So yeah, there you go, watch it if you want. If you feel that's an unfair synopsis given the whole dragon dueling suits background, then I will just laugh, since they spent all of 5 mins in the episode.
And I'm off. Time for more.

I'm glad to hear this series is good. I wanted to see it just because of the blonde schoolgirl with big breasts.
Nice to see my intuition was correct and that it's not a garbage show like Lucky Star.
EDIT:
I found a picture of the blonde girl. I saw her first, you guise. That is mai waifu right there.
EDIT2:
Also, that girl belongs to the Gyaru subculture. It's kinda difficult to explain without going into detail, but they're kinda like the Japanese equivalent of Candy Raver girls that were popular in the USA and the UK in the 1990's. The series appears to be about how wacky their lifestyles are in comparison to ordinary schoolgirls.
I know a fair amount about the Gyaru subculture because Eurobeat (a genre of hi-NRG electronic dance music) features heavily in their subculture, and as anyone who is familiar with me knows, I listen to a lot of Eurobeat. Like, a lot.

Bored. Watching Prince of Stride: Alternative. I like the earnestness of the main character, Yagami Riku, so far..
Plus it has one of my favorite voices, Hanazawa Kana.
-
I highly recommend this on crunchyroll
Because what's better than a teenaged kid surrounded by cute anime girls who is forced to choose between two horrible multiple choice decisions (Like: Telling a girl she has small boobs OR Taking off his shirt and run around squealing like a stuck pig) or suffer blinding pain until he chooses one of the two.

Ooh, I forgot all about this series. Will examine it.
It vaguely reminds me of Gaworare (What If Her Flag Toppled?), except played for laughs.

@Cirno What if her flag were toggled was amazing in that way that makes you think man, who came up with this. Especially how he had to use all his gathered flags in a battle for world safety.
