To make up for the DB crash, and to assure that I don't hide behind it, the following conversation happened:
Me: Super Mutants in Fallout 76 is lazy. So stupid.
Faraday: Why is more canon stupid?
Me: Because reasons.
Faraday: Well it's their property.
Me: It's stupid reasons.
Faraday: O...kay? I mean I respectfully disagree, but—
Me: STOP THE STUPID!
(images of people backing away slowly from the frothing person)--
That said, game companies need to realize that a lot of very skilled nerds play their games, and to stop trying to pull bullshit like spyware on us.
Holy crap, Kerbal is on this list? What the hell, goofy indie darlings? The rest of these people I expected to be amoral, but Kerbal?
My life is a lie.

Young fool. Only now at the end do you understand.

Get behind me, old woman. I remember BMG Rootkit. I remember DIVX. I remember MiniDisc. I'm aware of the early form of the RIAA going around Tin Pan Alley (et al.) making sure that musicians weren't using illegally obtained sheet music.
I just realized three of those things were Sony.
I'm sure there was an earlier form of branding cattle, but right now it's our Modern Cyberpunk World.
-
You'll also want to remove Facebook, Twitch, Chrome, Youtube, and Instagram apps from your mobile devices as well. They also use Redshell.
-
Look. I loved minidiscs.
-
Just so everyone is now aware. It's that time of year again.

I have less money this year than I did last year, so Steam can back the fuck off.

If you play a stupid little flash game you apparently have a chance to win free games.

Log into Steam, fight the ... Duldrums or Borings or whatever cutesy thing they have.
I wouldn’t be surprised if anyone tries and fails to be engaged longer than thirty seconds. It really is that bad. I don’t know what the chances of winning any of the games are.

Holy shit! You literally outspent me by an order of magnitude
Of course a guy at work owns 420 games so...
-
And 272 games total.
I have managed this mostly through Humble Bundles and waiting for free games through Humble and GOG and similar.
@Arkandel - Talked to a buddy of mine that I know has a crazy game collection.
Amount spend: $11.5k
Total games: 2311 games, 1706 DLC. -
@arkandel
I have a friend who has 1800 games. My personal account has 484 and my review account has about 700. I'm more surprised when people on steam have less than 200. -
Just so everyone knows, I am the worst Inquisitor ever.
-
@misadventure Did you judge a bear? Or a box?
-
@insomnia No. I did a few judgements and didn't like what my actual action was compared to the brief descriptor given. That was a problem a few times in the game where a choice was very much not what I had thought it would be.
I ruined the Chantry. I ruined the Grey Wardens. The Empire will fall at its next crisis and they don't like me. The Elves are unhappy. I broked Solas's orb. I didn't grab for power, and I didn't become a Believer. I didn't like any of the possible mates save one and I got nothing there.
At least everyone likes mages now.
-
So I've been playing through BattleTech, finally getting to the last mission (I think) And they say I need to field multiple lances. Ok, not a problem, but it totally smacks my immersion in the face. I've been fighting this war for like a couple years in game, and I've managed to get a couple lances of heavies with a pair of assaults as anchors. In order for me to field more lances I am going to have to hire mechwarriors. I am going to have to train them up. I am going to have to get amazingly lucky with salvage to get good lance compositions put together.
This is going to take me years in game time to do.
So this civil war is just going to chill. For years. While some mercenary captain runs around building their forces up?
Augh.

Smacks of "justify the in-game bonuses that you thought were optional". Bleh. Sorry to hear it.
