The State of the Chronicles of Darkness

Dammit! I thought I was safe. I thought I'd escaped from GMC. Neither Vampire nor Werewolf interested me in the least... but then they made this. And this looks AMAZING.
SIGH I almost got away...
-
You could steal the idea and completely otherwise ignore GMC.

If it makes you feel any better (?) no MU* is even planning so far to include it that I am aware of, plus it might be a long time before it's even out.
What did you like about it?
-
@Arkandel I like the idea of the Families, that they're taking from mythology rather than the animal world, I like the creep factor.
@Misadventure I could, but that would require me having a game. Which I do not now, nor ever will, have. ^_^ I wouldn't mind running one someday, but I do not have the skills or patience to build one.
-
So Beast is basically Otherkin: You Were Right All Along, then? Hrm. >_<
-
I think the reason no MU had been planning to do Beast is most.people are generally completely.unfamiliar with it thus far.
-
Yeah, it seems like it'd play right into the sense of persecution complex so prevalent on MU*es. I can't imagine it won't get snapped right up.
Honestly, I'm still shocked Demon made it onto a MU*, especially a multi-sphere one, and this sounds like it's actually being designed to work with other spheres.

Sure, of course. But my point wasn't that it wasn't going to eventually be out and picked up by MU*, only that it wasn't gonna happen any time soon.
-
I probably misread you then, @Arkandel. My bad. And I am still completely unsure what, if any, interest I have in Beast.
-
And yes, I do like that it looks to be designed to work with the other splats rather than having that 'ewwwww, you're a filthy unnatural vampire, why would I talk to YOU' thing.

Standard Color Hardcover*"Does anyone know what the difference between the two is, or how much better one looks than the other in similar products? Is it worth the extra $20?

@Arkandel
Which book is this? -
@Bobotron Oh, sorry, it's Werewolf the Forsaken (2nd Ed).

http://support.drivethrurpg.com/entries/23834863-What-is-the-difference-between-Premium-Color-and-Standard-Color-The color quality is the biggest issue it seems. The paper used in standard is the same used in B&W so it doesn't hold the ink as deeply. Premium uses a different paper and thus the art is heavier ink (and thus tends to look better).

I really like the Changeling thing, small blurb that it is. I agree with one comment below there, that I like how it's focusing heavily on how you escaped/fought free as a defining element of your character, not just 'this is what you were made into'.
-
Should make Loyalists easier to spot.
-
It also explains how they're killing Courts as a central role.
-
If Changeling 2.0 isn't careful it might induce me to play one for the first time ever.

Oh for those who did not notice, Mage made it through the major revision process and is back to being sneak previewed. It should be out, by my reckoning, in 2015.
