@sonder There's kinda sorta stuff for this in Promethean 2e.
-
@templari Yes! I wish I could've made the descs of the beaches bold, 32 pt red font reading: THESE BEACHES ARE REALLY COLD AND MADE UP OF ROCKS. STOP TRYING TO LAY ON THEM. THEY SUCK.
-
There are a lot of sand beaches/finely crushed rocks though and in the summer people lay on them all the time.. As long as you don't get in the water. That never gets warm around here.
-
@wildbaboons Lies! Cold Maine Ocean water was a state of mind. So what if I was purple by the time I got back out... in the middle of July!
@Sonder Not to mention "Crabs will try to eat you here"
WB there is right, There are a few beaches with actual sand in Maine, but most of them were artificial. But you know, I prefer that fine ocean smoothed pebbly-gravel over sand.
-
Now I really wanna go to Maine 'cause I collect beach pebbles. I hate you all now.
-
LOL. I live in Maine, grew up here, and our beaches are the best part of living here. Especially when you watch people from the west coast come and try to enjoy them. I've been asked, many time, "what the fuck is wrong with your beaches?" What's wrong with beaches filled with sharp, pointy, rocks and ice cold water year round?
-
@surreality Don't forget to pick up some of that Maine Ocean-Smoothed glass too!
-
@templari Oh, I would.
If you think I'm kidding, the beach we normally go to for pebbles, we don't just go for pebbles. We go for 'random debris'. Because the town used to extend two more street blocks further out into what is now ocean (complete with the wreck of a concrete ship -- ah, the things you couldn't make up if you tried!) and it's a good day when we find something that looks like it was part of a ship, or a weirdly ocean-pebble-smoothed 'this was part of the brick of somebody's house once or piece of weird old Victorian bathroom tile or whatever.
It's a really good day if we find a piece of rusting concrete ship hulk debris or a weird chunk of furnace slag or shiny hunks of coal from some submerged house's now horseshoe-crab-filled coal cellar.
Otherwise, mostly rocks, because nifty fossil coral and other weird little fossil bits and whatnots turn up sometimes.
We are very weird people. Very weird.

@surreality Jasper Beach is the place for you then

@sonder I perked up my ears re: you guys willing to do ports, and then I saw a very familiar character - http://fallcoast.net/wiki/Arkady_Ivanov - you guys got an Arkady!! I am super stoked now. I was going to wait until after that reboot thing but I'm now way tempted.
-
@kay Man, t'hell with that guy. Always weaving his webb.

Shoot me a PM on Fallcoast and we can chat.

For ten to twenty minutes before the game goes down again.
-
I made myself a bit named Effie. Pepper was taken but I am quite tickled with the new name. Plus I could totally see Cheiron giving her a new identity anyway -- not that you can really disguise her much past that. Effiepper lives!

We've cleaned up a ton of DB and wiki bloat. We had an ungodly amount of pointless backups taking up lots of space.
On the New Game front:
We're taking a more proactive approach this time and being transparent with the game creation process by getting players involved and our excitement level is off the charts. I am really interested in setting ideas especially; we're having a grand old time on the game right now brain storming on the Game Development channel.
I just want people to feel invested and like they helped to build something. Come join if you're intrigued; we're trying to poke our heads outside of the box and have fun.
Thanks for reading.

Out of curiosity, what are some of the better ideas? Are you still basing things in Miami or is that still up in the air?

We're still feeling Miami! We want mandatory high speed boat chases weekly. Also, for example we have an idea for players to be able to affect the grid by influencing it for die bonuses and minuses. Put a few of your drug dealers in the area and give your gridsquare +2 to buying Cocaine (this is a silly example but an example).
We're in some early brainstormy phases where we're figuring stuff out and taking notes. I know we want spooky and seedy. I want to do a pretty big theme with The Missing; I would love to have a huge missing persons issue in Miami.
Anyway I'm super shy about talking about my ideas here for some reason so I'm sorry if they seem vague or dorky~

Have there been any substantive discussions about transitioning fully to 2E?
-
@sonder Plz consider an 'Anachronism: 80s' flaw. Because pastel linen suits and bad 80s hair and...
(Also requesting a 'thinks that's dancing and it's not' flaw. Just because of this gif. Like... 'Not Smooth'. For the people who think they're hot, but are just... not, and are the only one blissfully unaware of this. I would take it in a heartbeat I swear I would, and it'd be a blast.)

Nah, we're not going to do full 2E. The things I want aren't out and I'm old and stuck in my ways at this point; perhaps next time!
