@Auspice While I was in Lowes yesterday buying mulch, a guy tried to push his way past the the line to get in, claiming that "he was tired of waiting". One of the guys he cut in front of took exception and pulled him back out of the store. I thought for a minute that a fight was going to break out but the assistant manager showed up and then, a moment later, a deputy. They served the guy with a notice not to trespass and ordered him off of the premises. Everyone in the line cheered 😛

      Man that's nice to hear.

I get waiting sucks, but it's sort of where we are right now. Do it because it's a civic duty.

My sister was texting the family (-1 shitty brother) group text about how she's down to one roll of TP but too lazy to stand in line.

(Whereas I was able to find a 20 pack of TP and I figure I'm set for months!)

      You're lucky!

I have not been able to find TP anywhere since this all started (for my area, anyway) two weeks ago. Fortunately I was able to uhhhh liberate most of a case of it from work (kidding, the boss actually suggested we help ourselves to the TP and paper towels).

There were only a few 20 packs left. And it was the cheapest (in make) kind.
      But I have it.

CostCo I hear is staying decently stocked.

        RE: TP

This may sound gross to some but whatever. When this whole thing started my wife and I didn't want to be TP hoarders but we also did not want to find ourselves without it. So we opted to install a bidet on our toilet. It cost us around $50 and it's cut our TP usage down to, maybe, a roll a week.

A lot of my neighbors are doing spring mulching/landscaping.

We are getting 8-14 inches of snow in the next 36 hours. I'm going to say that is why I have been holding off.

I have not hoarded, but I have TP to spare. As I said in another thread, if anyone needs help getting supplies in the Dayton, Ohio area, please feel free to PM me and I would be happy to deliver reasonable supplies to people.

You can't order tp from Walmart for grocery pickup. So now I have to get a delivery from a different store. This whole "If I catch this shit I could die" is really a pain in my ass, grocery wise.

A year ago a blizzard was about to roll into Colorado, and we were facing a snow day right before state testing was to begin. I stayed up all night with anxiety of how badly they were going to do if their routine was so screwed up by a snow day.

April 20th, 2019, all Denver schools were shut down because a woman obsessed with the Columbine High School Shooting had flown into the city, bought a gun, and made threats to shoot up a Denver school because of her obsession with Columbine. I couldn't sleep that night or think straight the next day because I was terrified this woman was going to hurt someone I loved or someone else loved. The next day I cried when my kids came in and I hugged the crap out of which kids would let me (they were fifth graders, getting ready to be too cool for hugs.)

At the time I thought those two were the absolute worst thing that could happen in the month of April.

God was I fucking wrong. But this time I can't hug my kids after it is done.

I am off my meds until these stimulus checks come in because meds without insurance are just way too expensive.

I've been most worried about my depression hitting me hard.
What I didn't expect was the generalized anxiety.

I've been going into anxiety attacks suddenly and without warning since last night. I don't know why I'm anxious (I mean there are REASONS to be but I can't identify which it is so I can work through it). I just am.

Man, I'm ON my meds and today has been one long fight with the knot in my chest where I just start sobbing at the drop of a hat because of anxiety.

I can't even imagine being without them. I'm so sorry.

Thank you. ❤ It's not easy, but I did get some time in with a good friend playing Stardew Valley. That's a really good game for just sitting on voice chat and relaxing. The most stressful thing in that game is 'goddamnit where did the [in game] day go?!'

To follow up with that, most management meds, the manufacturers have discount programs and/or free programs for some patients. It might be worth reaching out to them?

I'm not sure. I already use GoodRX, but most of the ones I take haven't had discounts on there in a long time.

It's not really the... singular cost of a medication, unfortunately. It's the fact that I take 9 things. And honestly there's stuff I should get refilled before the anxiety meds.

I'm listening to a district webinar that just gives us a rundown of everyone and everything. Not required, but I hate not knowing, so I'm listening.

One of the upper management people in the school said he's hearing from non-parent type people about how they think that teachers/school staff are just sitting at home doing nothing.

And I can't even. That ranks up there with the women talking in Safeway today,

Woman 1 (no mask, but staying behind the marked lines) : "I haven't seen you lately! HI!"
Woman 2 (mask, but pulled off her face to allow easier talking) : "I know, this social distancing stuff is keeping us apart!"
W1: "It's such nonsense. Not only is it unnecessary but it's unhealthy!"
                                    W2: "Right?"

At which point I stopped listening because the rage had billowed up.

While we're busting a gut delivering food to people who are vulnerable and isolated, the people two doors up had their family over for a party that carried on until past midnight outside. The same people whose kid chanted at us while we walked past with the dog "we're in isolation". Guess they gave up on that.

@Auspice That does sound terrible, I am on my medication (albeit the dose should probably go up with all of the shit happening) and I have been getting anxiety attacks regardless. Wednesday I woke up really early and lay in bed with my mind spinning, then I started to worry that the cuddlier of my cats who was curled up next to my feet might be dead? For some reason. She is two years old and completely healthy.

Of course when I panicked and crawled down to look at her she chirped and half rolled over to show her tummy before purring happily away as I petted her, but I was still a mess for the entire morning.

I do this often. Is that an anxiety tic? I thought it was an 'I am a stupid crazy person' one. My cat is 10 and is, AFAIK, perfectly healthy (I mean she was last vet visit so!). But every morning if I wake up before her I have to check......
