Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.

I have been sick since Christmas day. It means I had to cancel one of my favorite gatherings (new years eve game night with roast beast) along with a few other things, which means I feel pretty sad actually.
I was able to stay out of bed or the couch for 6 consecutive hours yesterday (longest stretch since monday), but I am paying for it today. Reactive airways suck. I am so down that even the cat who prefers my husband has been my fluffy purring cuddle buddy today. (Wanting to lay her huge ass fluffy heavy self ON my chest, of course).

I hurt my lip. It's a stupid tiny little thing, I got paper stuck to it and pulled it (and lip skin) off, and it is MADDENING. Like, I think broken bones bother me less than this is.

Fucking people who think something is funny - when it's completely wrong in the information provided. Maybe it's just my history major showing, but if you want to joke about offering one of our politicians up to Iran to 'even things out' - at least make sure you offer one of our politicians that is equal in stature. THEN it might be funny. Jeez.

That totally awesome feeling when your non-attorney boss comes in to a room full of attorneys that just got done taking a legal training, and wants to do something contrary to the legal training that you just took...
...and you, the non-attorney in the room, are the only one to speak up, so boss takes it as you personally challenging his authority (to... say what the law is, apparently?)

I'm pretty far from the fires, except when we're driving supplies down.
If you're of a mind, and have the resources, please consider donating to the Country Fire Authority, Fire Relief Fund for First Nations Communities, Australian Red Cross, or the NSW Rural Fire Service.
If you are interested in donating, triple check to whom you're giving your money. Crises offer higher chances for scammers to operate.

Minor but nagging peeve: sticky labels meant to come off that that don't entirely come off of things. Especially when the thing they're attached to is clear, and/or can't have goo-gone type chemicals used on it without a risk of screwing up the surface more.

I hate this but there's a part of me that also likes the tactile of sitting there for a while rubbing it with my thumb to clean it all off.

@Auspice There was a really good trick re: using a thing of cheap felt to rub over it to catch up the glue that made it easier to get it all off when you fingernail it off, but once that refused to come off entirely and I had a fuzzy container, so because of that ONCE I was just like: nope, never ever doing that again, which is overkill, but. BUT...
