I thought it was pretty obvious that you were joking.

Unfortunately, styles, guides, and grammar prescriptivism are very, very, very heated topics in certain circles.

I just want to know if I'm a bad person for liking the s' instead of s's , I don't have an editor to argue with so that means it's a victimless crime right?

I'm not sure if this makes me feel better or worse.

(also joking. I'm glad I didn't completely fail in my execution.)

This is how you water down the horrific mental-health system in some parts of the country.

              Well, not really.

Last night I found out an old friend died. I havent spoken to or even seen him in ~15 years. We weren't even that close. Except for the fact that in the early months of the year 2000's, when I was near homeless, and he was just a stranger from a LARP group, he took me into his household with his Wife, and Child, and other friends. Through that I met a man who was one of the very few I invited to my wedding.

R.I.P. Vernon you glorious man, incredible DM and steampunk renfaire weirdo. There was much about you I aspire to be.

Vernon and I maintained our friendship until the last -- our decades-old gaming group was wondering where he was for our Thursday night Champions game.

He truly lived up to every kind remembrance left in his passing.

My real life peeve is my own doing but still...

When you have to buy pretty much everything for a household because you are starting over. UGGGH. Why does it have to cost so much?

                      I hope everything's all right.

                      I have a whack-load of shit I don't mind giving away.

@RightMeow We are still in the process of cleaning out old stuff, and I still have a mountain of things my husband hasn't taken over to my mother yet so she can donate it to the church. Most right now is some decorative foo, but there's some kitchen things. Nudge if needed, ok?

Depending on how long you can wait, if there's a Target in your area, check their back to school stuff in a month or so. They have had a set of basic plastic dishware for the past few years in their college gear; the colors change each year, but they're actually really nice basics for everyday, and they're very very very reasonable. (Under $1 per piece last year. We got a pile in matte black and use them for our main every day dishes now, super easy care and microwave safe.) They don't LOOK cheap, which is a plus.

                          Oh fucking well.

We talk about Mu*s here. Nothing gets more heated than that, so we should be used to heated conversations by now.

                              Double post to say:

I just realized that Donald Trump's impeachment proceedings ended at the beginning of February this year. Does that shock anyone else? It feels like that ended ages ago, but nope - 4 months ago. This year is all sorts of fucked up.

@Ominous This lines up in no small way with today's irk:

"It's not like you can pick a day that isn't the anniversary of some racist or homophobic attack!"

...really should be all the fucking proof we need that...

"There are no systemic discriminations in the modern society!"

                                ...is complete bullshit.

I mean. Isn't the former proof that the latter is bullshit? I know that old saying about how 'genius is the ability to keep two contradictory thoughts in your head at the same time' but I think this is sometimes something that needs to be pointed out as an indication of profound stupidity.

                                <deep breath calm blue ocean>

                                Oh fucking well.

                                  Self-gripe:

I'm about to take off and fly across the ocean to see someone I love, and I haven't really been around people since my mom died in February, and I am TERRIFIED and insecure about the trip, and about my being basically a vagabond again, and about just like everything.

How do I be secure? I keep having these secondary feelings of anger at myself for being so wretchedly nervous.

@Janarc Don't worry about being secure. The more you think about yourself the worse it gets. Make plans. Decide what to pack. Bring a book for the flight. Focus on what you want to do.

Your friend/partner/significant other will be happy to see you.

Can confirm, keep yourself busy with organisation. Focus on what needs to be done, and you'll have very little time to be scared until it's already too late to turn back. At least if you're scared on the plane, there's beverage service.

I'm okay. I just decided to leave an unhealthy situation and now have to buy everything again. I was more like UGH.. why's it got to be so much. Why can't beds be cheaper? Or table and chairs? Or couches? Or all the odds and ends you need, etc.
