A small yappy animal, that my neighbours are somehow getting away with calling a dog, has been barking for two and a half solid hours. This would not normally be an issue, except that it is twenty past one in the goddamn morning and I'm already prone to headaches.

This also describes my new neighbors dachshunds, which are small, yappy, and overly-aggressive dogs. I've never disliked a dog until these things.

            Ok
            Wow

Maybe do not suddenly ride up to the single woman at the drive thru on your bike and begin demanding she buy food for you.

I get that maybe (I can't tell because you startled the shit out of me and essentially cornered me even though yes I am in my car) you may be homeless but holy fuck that is not the way to do it and I am not the person to approach I mean the car in front of me had three people in it and the car behind me had four and you didn't ask either of them

You knew what you were doing and it was not good

This has happened more times than I'd like to admit. Although, the last time (which was a bit ago), I think I uttered the phrase: Mace your ass if you don't back up.

Austin has a homeless problem and I hate to sound callous, but 'problem' does factor into it. There are a lot of people who take advantage of the fact that Austin tries to help the homeless. So some people will bully you, get aggressive (I've had people try to refuse to let me get onto the sidewalk when crossing the street unless I give them money), etc.

You learn to tell the difference between 'this person is going through a difficult time and needs help' and 'this person has explicitly chosen this lifestyle.' My ex-husband, after we separated, chose to 'be homeless' to evade paying child support to the woman he'd been with before we were together and he came to Austin for a while (ask me what it was like to suddenly run into him one day at the library downtown!). He ended up trying to convince me I should let him live with me for a bit (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha- no) because there were so many homeless-by-choice people here that he had a hard time finding his 'niche' and ultimately (thank fuuuuuuuuuck) went back east.

The downside to having a new(er? It's a 2017 that I keep looking nice) car is people assume I have money.

                    I mean. It's a Fiat 500. It's not like I drive a Lexus.

Tho I did love the time -- when I was between jobs -- that I was at the HEB on the 11th of the month. I was getting out of my car and this woman came up to me and began begging for money. I just looked at her and said: "Lady, I'm here to try to pay my rent."

She stopped, processed what day of the month it was and what that must mean for how my week was going, and replied: "I am so sorry" before walking away.

Minor compared to many things here, but annoying.

It is vacation. Long road trip drive was fucking long and I cannot for the life of me sleep in a car.

20 hours of crampy uncomfortable drive. OMG did the bed at the hotel look like heaven. Tomorrow -- well, technically today at this point -- is the one day we can definitely sleep in.

                      Sleep! Magical sleep!

...ending with waking up after precious few hours with a caffeine withdrawal headache so brutal that opening my eyes was enough to make me wish for death.

                      But there's an easy fix!

...that will guarantee I don't actually get back to sleep any time soon, and that the long, later than usual exertion day tomor-er, later today is gonna suuuuuuuuuuuck.

Mrph. Loki's pet project forever. πŸ˜•

                      Oh fucking well.

I'm just nice. I am NOT trying to get with your person. I don't want your person. Seriously, I promise. Just being nice. I'm not touching them. I smile at EVERYONE seriously.

For all the 'hurr durr get a real OS' people:

when I reboot my Mac, it remembers what programs I had open and relaunches them for me.
