Somewhat similar to @Auspice - if we make plans, and you say you'll let me know when you'll be here... let me know if you're NOT FUCKING COMING. resists urge to kill

It's the worst fucking feeling.
Like do I mean that fucking little to you? -
@auspice Yours is way worse, because fucking parents. (My parents suck too, and about as much as yours) This is a guy who seems to think I'm going to let him be a fuck boy and come around when he wants. He clearly doesn't know I don't give that much of a fuck about his ass.
-
@surreality As someone who had 'those endowments' as a teenager, I would have told them to go fuck themselves in the chorus line, since apparently having tits automatically makes you a whore. I also sympathize. Its why I stopped auditioning for school plays after the 7th grade despite really enjoying it.
-
Man, this sucks. I can't upvote but I just want to give you a hug. So. You know.

@Auspice, remind them who'll be choosing their nursing home.

They won't even write wills. They're supporting all 4 of my siblings who are, mind you, all over 18 (the next oldest after me will be 28 this coming year).
They should damn well know which one of their children is going to handle their estate by now.

Oh my. Your parents really should do that. Intestate succession is a fucking nightmare.

Oh. I know.
But blah blah 'we're too young for wills' blah blah bullshit.
Trust me.
I've fucking tried.I'm sorry, no one is too young for a will. I mean, if anyone in this world relied on or gave a shit about me in the least, I'd have one. They have five kids, but no. 'We're too young to need wills.'

Oh look. It's 11pm.
Haven't heard anything from them yet.
I am Jack's lack of surprise.

Oh yeah. I did my usual commute home. It was just full of me grouching to myself and all.
They got here around 11:20. They did not bring blankets or pillows. They're lucky I have these things (despite never having guests). I dunno, man.
Upside? My brothers apparently chipped in together and bought me an InstantPot. I gotta send them thanks.

The problem with critics, is the fuck they know what /I/ like. They are presenting an opinion piece, that's it, their opinion is not any more valid than mine or anyone else's.
But it really should be.
I expect my critics to tell me something more than what I can see for myself. Just like a teacher or professor, I want their piece to be more than an opinion. I want it to be an educated opinion.
They are being paid, most of the time, for presenting something more than "I liked it."
-
Scientology is much more boring than I thought it’d be.

But, like... isn't that what they kind of do now?
Ok, so, for example -- you, based on background, think that this play is more meritorious than some critics do. But they also don't share the background.
We all do this from time to time, and time can change those opinions.
I loved Brokeback Mountain when it came out. I thought it had an important message. I still do. And I was pissed when critics canned it.
I watched it again last week with David. Now, my opinion?
Eh.
Message is there, but the delivery is underwhelming. If you're passionate about the subject matter, still a decent moral story.
But if you're not, then jesus is that an awful movie to have to sit through. Painful acting, ridiculously slow pacing, terrible transitions.
I can see it now.

??? It has an 87% on RT, that's not really canned.

Yeah, 100% agree here. And really, being a major theatrical critic used to mean this. A higher level of education about the artform. That's unfortunately changed over the years.

Isn't it also widely regarded as the movie that should've won Best Picture that year, now that we're all retroactively embarrassed by 'Crash'?
I mean I'm sure there were critics who didn't like it, but Brokeback Mountain is a movie that can be called a critical and commercial success without any qualification.

Is the fear of tetanus on their rusty “navy” not exciting enough? How about the doxing and harassment if you leave? I think the fact that they can manage to call their dangerous cult a “religion” for the tax breaks to be depressingly interesting.
Look for thspeech from the director of Battlefield Earth where he apologizes, and explains his time inside the compound. He is a comedic writer, I swear.

@thenomain I thought maybe Scientology could be my next main researching squeeze. I’ve done the people’s temple, and I love love love Mormon history. But Scientology thus far is kind of meh. LRH isn’t even as interesting as Jim Jones or any of the LDS church fathers or branch offs.
