Just because documents are produced to your lawyers does not mean those documents are protected by attorney-client privilege.

Sounds to me like those text messages were requested through discovery and properly produced.

Perhaps you can shed some light, because the reporting on this seems weird. On the one hand they say the phone copy was provided "accidentally" but on the other hand they say that when the lawyers were informed, they confirmed it wasn't privileged. Does that maybe mean they goofed by turning over more than they needed to, but not necessarily anything privileged?

I do not know all the specifics, but it is safe to presume that Alex Jones' attorneys are probably competent.

As I said, just because you give a document to your lawyer does not mean the document is protected by attorney-client privilege. Communications with your attorneys are protected and these communications can include e-mails, letters, and other written correspondence made directly with one's attorneys. In this case, text messages were produced by the attorneys from Mr. Jones' phone. Unless those text messages were exchanged between Mr. Jones and his attorneys (or someone else with whom Mr. Jones may claim a privilege, like his spouse, his priest, or his doctors, or his psychologist), there's a good chance that they are discoverable, which means their production can be compelled. Had the messages been actually privileged there would have been all sorts of motions filed by now.

From what I've read, the text messages reveal that Mr. Jones knew that he was spreading false information, but didn't care. It also showed that Mr. Jones likely perjured himself on the stand. In either case, I am glad this case is moving forward because this is probably the only way to rein in these shock-jock faux-news shills, short of beating the shit out of them publicly.

He also put up a segment on InfoWars alleging that Judge Maya Gamble, his judge, was involved in child trafficking and pedophilia, also showing the judge on fire, which was played in the courtroom in front of the judge.

And that the members of the jury were shills and plants that "don't even know what planet they are on," which in turn prompted the jury to submit a question read by Judge Gamble:

"Are you aware that this jury consists of 16 intelligent and fair-minded citizens who are not being improperly influenced in any way?”

I mean, I know that he's shooting for a mistrial to buy himself some time but damn if this isn't funny to watch anyway.

It does look like Reynal fucked up. He filed an emergency motion to dismiss the evidence and is claiming this as grounds for a mistrial.

Oh dear gods.

So, I got a new job. Yay! I was supposed to be in a Teams meeting at 9 to 'set up' my equipment. AKA I need some chucklehead to walk me through Bit Locker and into their systems. I double checked with my contact person at 8:30, was told all my invites were correct. 9 - no one's there. 9:10 - get a phone call, can't hear the guy, tell him I'm in the teams meeting via the link, waiting for Kody. He tells me he'll check with Kody, then get back to me. Never calls back. 10am - I email my point person, tell her what's going on. No response. 10:45 - I text the person I was supposed to join for 'catch up' training, tell HER what is going on. She reaches out to original point person. Original point person says no one showed up to the teams meeting. Guy who called says he called me, etc etc

So I got called and blamed because the guy who was not named in any of my paperwork, or invites, called me on a crappy connection, and I didn't take him at his word.

Guess who doesn't get paid for 3 weeks, and has no idea how they're going to pay their car loan or anything else on time because unemployment probably won't pay anything for this week?

So, today I was supposed to fill out my timesheet, through the recruiting agency that staffed me. Well, on Wednesday I emailed the timesheet help email asked for help, because I did not have all the info, could not get into the timesheet program. No response.

Sent another early this afternoon, and two more to my recruiter, and a third to their Human Resources email, asking for help before my timesheet is late.

No response to those emails, but HR did email me later, asking me how 'everything was going' and if 'they could do anything to make the transition smoother, let them know'.

So my VPN for work has been acting up. It kicks me out, then lets me back in, and then a few minutes later does it again. So I tell my bosses that. they tell me to call IT. Tier 1 escalated me to VPN team, who has escalated me to the desktop team.

They (my immediate bosses) keep saying I can send emails, etc. so my VPN must be working. Like..did you NOT listen to me?

@Macha Of course not. The average tech understanding amongst management is stuck at 'turn it off, then turn it back on again' or 'reset the router'. Beyond that they don't understand intermittent and recurring issues. It either works or it doesn't.

Then there's my therapist, who was supposed to upload my ESA letter for me. So I could email it to the apartment complex office, because we're still not supposed to go in person (and no one is ever there, anyhow). He put a single copy in the mail. It took over a week to get. I called him several times, left a message with the ladies on the phones to please ask him to call me. now he is my mental health provider. I do not call and ask for a call. Like ever.

I finally went to his supervisor and left a vm. Funny how he called me 2 hours later. Then denied he was ever going to upload it, until I told him EXACTLY what he said. "I'll write it up, and get someone to help me put it on mychart, I'm still not good with that technology." Then he actually said. "Well, you've got the letter now, so everything's good?"

No, no it's not, you dick. Because I had to wait for you, an amazing dog that I totally had a connection with, got an application before mine. Despite the SPCA saying it is not first come, first serve, I have been clearly told I am in 2nd in line, and not to get my hopes up. To the point of "Well, when you're here for your meet and greet, I'd look through the kennels again." Lady, I've been in a half dozen times. There have been TWO dogs that I had any connection with. I saw them on TUESDAY, and was told there were no applications on them, and that one of them hadn't even had any interest shown in him. I hand my stuff in on Thursday, and suddenly they're both spoken for? KMA.

So I can drop him a note in Teams saying 'hey, my bandwidth dropped to like.. 3mbps down around 2am, I had to restart the router to clear the noise off the line and refresh the signal, back up and running by 2:20!' and he actually understands. I've told him each time I've had a tech out to check the lines or fix issues, so I haven't lost any time trying to get Comcast to play straight with me.

Comcast currently owes me recompense for one of their tech's putting a hole in my bedroom wall and cracking the baseboard in the living room because their brilliant idea for 'fixing' the issue of a dead port in my bedroom was to run coax all the way the Hell around the living room, through a second port on the other side of the living room, through a hole they put in my bedroom wall (no port, no face plate, just a hole punched into the drywall with a screwdriver), to run more coax from the hole to the router. Since I live in an apartment building where they are supposed to gain permission from the PMC before making any modifications to the buildings, they're now responsible for the damages to the wall and baseboard. >.>

I don't understand much of the above, but I have learned in my years that accepting an expert's explanation and noting the event is more effective and less stressful. Like, if this keeps happening? I know I have a problem and I can talk to my employee about what we can do to make it not happen.

But then, I'm not an M.B.A. graduate, so --

I sent both of my managers text pictures this morning, trying to show the errors I was getting. I called IT to try and follow up on my ticket, but as often is on a Monday morning, they've got a huge queue and I should be getting a call back.

Manager has been texting me, asking me the most basic bs. Yes, I've restarted the system. Yes, I've tried several times to get into the system. I've explained this multiple times. I have gone to the VPN team. They escalated it. I can't MAKE IT call me to fix it.

ETA: Then my other manager called me, and had me do shit she knows nothing about. I loathe people with less tech knowledge than I, trying to act like they know more. Don't talk down to me, it pisses me off.

Also, on the brighter side.. sort of? When I went in on Saturday for meet and greet with puppies, I was told that the family interested in one couldn't take him because they found out someone needed surgery ASAP. The other one I am also first for, because.. I'm not sure why, they just told me I was. They were going to test them with cats yesterday, but I won't hear until tomorrow. So here's hoping at least one of them is okay with the kitties, so there can be peace in the house. And the cat will again stay out of my room. I will not find out until tomorrow, and the not knowing is making me crazy.
