I cannot state, for the record, whether or not pineapple on pizza is good, bad, or horrible as I have never had pineapple on my pizza.

          And I'm okay with that.

@Sparks Chicken, bacon, and pineapple with bbq sauce instead of traditional marinara?

Take off the pineapple and I'd eat it.

I have leftovers of a pizza at home that's Alfredo (instead of the usual marinara type sauce), chicken, and mushroom.

chuckles I will freely admit that I'm odd in liking pineapple on pizza... but I also prefer it to be with NOT the usual pizza sauce. I don't care for pineapple and tomato sauce. I prefer bbq or alfredo or really anything else. Also... no oregano. >.>

Look, all I'm saying is that pepperoni, pineapple, and black olive is the pizza of the gods.

Sausage and pineapple is an abomination against all natural law, order, and reason.

why would you defile pineapple with olives, how do those even work together?!

Pineapple goes best with something salty, a little sweet already, and with a flavor profile like cloves, smoke or curry - rich, savory and bold. Spice can be okay but not what is used in, like, Italian sausage. Otherwise the pineapple overpowers it.

Olives are too bitter for pineapple!

@Sparks Olives are gross. And oregano is the devil. Its an herb that easily overpowers everything it touches, yet its thrown about with casual abandon.

Yes, exactly! Like really good black olives (or kalamata olives, which are even better as they have a higher salt content to them, but which a lot of pizza places don't offer as a topping).

You are clearly using the wrong olives.

I actually agree with you on oregano inasmuch as it should be used sparingly. A little bit of oregano on a pizza is wonderful; many places do put far too much on.

@Sparks The olives are just a personal preference. But yes, too many places spread oregano like its cheese.

I had a pizza with fresh grilled pineapple on it that was actually pretty good, at a very frou-frou hipster wood fired pizza place. Though maybe I shouldn't call it a pizza exactly and more of a flatbread since it didn't have a sauce base (there was stuff drizzled a little on top) or cheese on it? I hate canned pineapple so ham+pineapple pizza never appealed to me, but after having that I'll admit I might try it if it was a cheeseless hipster one. I'm not sure I'd like cheese with pineapple, even the fresh and grilled kind.

There was a place called Brixx in SC that did pizzas like this.
They were also late night with great specials after 10 (usually BOGO on beer and pizza both!).

They had a lot of pretty wild flavors, too. I ended up fairly fond of one with spinach and sliced tomato.

If omitting cheese from a pizza is hipster, I've been hipster since the late 90s.

I like cheese on my pizza, but I don't need to have it. Give me a cracker-crisp flatbread with olive oil drizzled on plenty of meat, and you've got a deal.

A lot of prescription pain meds don't work on me or barely work (I always thought klonopin and tramadol were pretty much sugar pills and to this day I don't get what people see in them: I take one and it's like nothing happened) but weed can help me function (I have a really powerful cbd gel that works better than any anti inflammatory med I've ever taken).

Hold on a second. What horrible excuse for a doctor was prescribing klonopin for pain? That's a benzodiazepine. A really, really strong one. It's for seizures and crazies like me who panic at the drop of a hat--not pain.

I've known people to be put on it for pain. Not many, but some.

I am familiar with its effect (or, well, lack thereof) because years ago I'd been on Effexor and when I came off of it began suffering mild seizures. So they tried klonopin and yeah. Didn't help. Thank God that withdraw symptom wasn't permanent.

                                          Mostly I'm just sad.

My grandfather has dementia and Parkinson's and over the last two years has gone from the smartest most active person in the world to barely being able to function. My grandmother has never been much of the nurturing sort, not a bash against her, she just isn't, and so she has struggled to adapt to being a caretaker. It has come to a head though where she isn't doing what needs to be done for him (more regular care takers, avoiding driving, taking time for HERSELF). Long story short, my father is now having to look for ways to get her declared incompetent to care for him so that she doesn't do something though negligence that is going to really hurt him. My heart just absolutely aches. Grandma is the kind of person that doesn't forgive easily and there is a good chance that if dad succeeds that she will never forgive him before she dies. Dad is her only kid she still has close ties with because of other things that happened in the past.
