@auspice Right! But you see in the US 'gravy' usually means that horrifying thing grandmothers make with turkey
droppingsdrippings or something at Thanksgiving and Christmas.you must have had some terrible gravy growing up. I pity you, truly.
but that isn't a US thing.. by definition gravy is made from the juicy remnants in the pot after cooking meat. Anything else is just some sort of gravy-like sauce.

In my house, we mix the turkey drippings with mushrooms to make the gravy.

So when are you visiting to cook for me?

Tonight's comfort food: Split pea soup made with a smoked turkey wing instead of the usual smoked pork product. It turned out great!

Oatmeal. Cooked with cream and raisins then dusted with cinnamon sugar on top.
-
Cinnamon toast (dense, thick sliced bread, usually - Jamaican hardo bread is the best for this)
Tater Tots
Ramen -
Mattar paneer (basically curried peas and cheese over rice)
-
Gon chow ngau ho.
-
Curry. I love a good curry.
-
@sg Thank you

... I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THIS IS!

I'm going to guess thin-sliced sirloin beef with egg noodles, it looks to be a teriyaki or soy based sauce, perhaps spicy from the faint red tinges I'm catching... with onions, bean sprouts, green onion, and zucchini.

Not sure what that is but it looks amazing.
It's actually flank steak, thinly-sliced, on thick rice noodles, stir-fried with scallions, bean sprouts, and soy sauce.
Also known as "gon chow ngau ho."
Cantonese dish. A staple of dim sum or yum tsa.

Is it okay for me to just share a food i'm about to turn into a comfort food? Because my fiance is awesome.

Be happy for what you have. Both of us cook (and I typically cook more often than not, as he usually gets home from work after me). We were talking about this last night (I made curry beef last night), since we needed something to do with the leftover rice.
Tonight's dish is going to be italian sausage and chicken angel hair with a homemade arabiatta sauce. Which I'm making.
