Darkwater: The Return
-
I've decided it's my mission to try and find someone who knows how to work with wikidot code, to make ours nice and shiny.
-
-
1: See this thread's title, immediately think: "YAY I HOPE SHE BRINGS BACK WINGS AND CLAY"
2: Click on thread, realize it's not THAT Darkwater.
3: Make sad face.
-
I am amused at the bureau and school of occult since these are themes I have wanted to explore.
-
@autumn sorry
-
@ganymede Unfortunately, wikidot is a huge weakness. MediaWiki? Sure! But I tried and failed with wikidot enough to know that is not my jam.
-
Paging @GirlCalledBlu... ? (I'm the same way; mediawiki yes, wikidot... all the hells no.)
-
I think wikidot is somewhat temporary, maybe?
-
The wikidot is temporary until I get the SQL set up and a domain for that particular site claimed. I've been super busy with work RL so haven't had a lot of free time to work on it, but there will be a MediaWiki for it.
Heck I've been so busy I haven't even been able to make a character of my own.
-
@lithium Oh yes, please don't rush! I just didn't want people to get heavily into setting things up with wikidot if it's temp and if there is a lot of difference between the two codes.
-
Double post! I don't care!
I just want to thank everyone who has come back and paying attention the announcements boards! Seriously. There is always talk about how slow staff is sometimes, but sometimes waiting on players is just as bad. Or worse! So like, thanks for that!
Also we have a couple of new people approved too. And an event tonight. Things are happening!
-
@insomnia It's completely different code, really. It'd be like trying to write Python code on a MUX from what I can see of it, it's really that different.
-
@cobaltasaurus It's okay! TBH I think you made the right choice of Darkwaters to bring back.
But I really wish the wiki from that game was up somewhere.
-
@autumn tbh? Me too. I loved some of the NPCs I made, and would like to have them back. Because, who knows, maybe we'll add Mage 2.0 if we convert to Changeling 2.0.
(waits for the shrieking)
(This is not a promise nor a guarantee, this is 1am cobalt talking wistful)
-
@cobaltasaurus I will just say, adding Mage to Multisphere... bad idea.
In my honest opinion.
Changeling, 1.0 and 2.0 (From what I understand) stand just fine on their own. If you were going to do a 2.0 change for anything, it should be werewolf. It's just so much better.
-
@cobaltasaurus Something about Changeling 1.0 never grabbed my attention. If you guys move to 2.0 perhaps I'll make the leap.
-
@lithium Fuck werewolf with a rusty spoon. No. Never.
(Ahem, more rationally. Adding werewolf 1.0 is, to me, a large part of what killed any enjoyment I had in running Darkwater. While Spider had a big hand in tainting the waters in general. Werewolf came with a host of things that included me the game owner filing complaints to Tributary about player behavior in werewolf.)
-
@cobaltasaurus Really? Like what? I totally didn't hear anything like this. Though I only saw werewolf players juuuuust as the Pure were about to leave grid.
I should amend that, I could see some things I was there for as being trying, just not THAT trying.
-
@misadventure I think fuck them with a rusty spoon is probably a good indication that she doesn't want to talk about it.
Plus I have a stupid good memory and I don't remember half that shit. But I will say werewolf attracts a certain type of player. Not ALL werewolf players are like that, but there is a type, you know?
-
@cobaltasaurus said in Darkwater: The Return:
Fuck werewolf with a rusty spoon. No. Never.
I think Lithium meant Werewolf 2E.
It really is super-different.
The players may not be.
