That would make sense, I guess. No tank mode and that plane doesn't look anything like a MiG-25, but --

-- I mean, that really does look like Starscream next to Shockwave.

I had not see Shockwave. That is fantastic. And those are Starscream's colors. Everything I'm learning about this movie screams "better than Bay" to me.

I've been trawling for other photos. Not many to be found, but here are other characters on Cybertron:

Couldn't find a pic of Brawn, but, as you can see, they are going back to G1 models for inspiration.

I saw a trailer for Battle Angel and I wondered if they were deliberately trying to throw one character into the uncanny valley so hard that she broke into a hundred pieces and would have to crawl out into an uncaring world.

What I’m saying is that sometimes the giant faceless floating powers are right to discard something.

What I’m saying is that Ready Player One is not a template for good digital effects and I hope this doesn’t become a trend. (At least in RPO the disturbing people models were in a pure digital landscape.)

Thanks! Definitely sells me on seeing the movie this weekend. Probably twice just for those visuals. When there was a Transformers movie originally announced the G1 representations are exactly what I had hoped for.

I'm glad someone made a movie using them.

Me too.

But Blitzwing ain't no MiG-25. At least, there ain't no MiG I know flying the USAF insignia.

Looks like they just used a F-4 for the model (Phantom II, based on the way the wing-tips rise).

(Edit to add: I'm not a huge aircraft buff, but I've been through the USAF museum more times than I can count.)

The G1 Blitzwing is a MiG-25 Foxbat. His tank form is a Type 74. G1 Starscream is a F-15 Eagle.

-- And I realize you're referring to the movie versions.

On my way to see Bumblebee! So excited! I haven't been to the theater to see a Transformers movie since the third one and I didn't even watch the last one. This one looks pretty good though!

Just saw Glass. Really liked it. It left me going "huh" for a while.

Finally got around to seeing Atomic Blonde. It was awesome. What really blew me away was the lighting, I want neon everywhere now.

It took me a hot minute to watch it too, but when I finally did (a few months ago), I was kinda mad at myself for taking so long.

Atomic Blonde was a lot better than I had expected it to be. I like Charlize and McAvoy, which was good, but the premise was nice, and the visuals were pretty awesome.
