600 cases. Because the office supposed to do them, can't. On TOP of my regular work load. Yeah yeah, I get until July 1st, but that's still more than 35 cases a day. Which is my daily case output on my normal work. So fuuuuuuuuuck you, City office.

Dear Boss, dumping 600 cases for me to pull up and call twice (and no ,you can't call them 2x on the same day, on top of the extra extra heavy 'normal' workload for the month, and then putting the shit my teammate didn't do on me? Not helping.

When my friends started the firm and I joined up, we knew we'd lose a lot of cases as we learned the law, but we resolved that we would make the state bleed for every single fucking inch.
This case is my little baby straightrazor. When I submitted it in state court last year I got a call from the DA saying that it was longer than what he was used to.
Then he ended up giving me book recommendations because he's a liberal whose favorite magazine is the Atlantic and he was surprised to see the word "Kafkaesque" in a memorandum.
It was a weird phone call.

I think I am starting to push at the limit of my coping and compartmentalizion strategies to function at work, though we are all in the same boat of burnout right now. The burnout on life period is not helping. I am hoping that a long vacation I have will reset it a bit (and luckily in a staggered way we are all taking them so maybe that will help things over all).
I like the basically of my job, I like getting to play with all the fun office equipment, I love the hours and people, the stability, the benefits, ect. But I also do not want to sacrifice my struggling student next year if school is get again remote leaning. (The other two at home will be fine, but one of my kids just really does not do well with it and not from lack of trying)
Even when thet day is not particularly terrible or stressful I am seldom not thinking "I'm not sure if I can keep doing this." But we will see. Obviously I can take a shovel to the face and keep going past all kinds of situations and things that I always think I can't. So there's that.
Pretty sure if my little boss quits then I likely will as well and I know she is on the edge too.

Dear boss, I get it. My co-worker/teammate has been slacking off majorly since we started working from home. We both know he's smoking pot constantly and fucking off.
But I JUST got hired on to the company, and you expect me to do the work of two people? How about you call him and rattle his cage, instead of complaining to me, and putting MORE work on me, than my fair share?
I am SO FUCKING TIRED of people who can't handle even mild confrontation.

I only have 24 babies on my class list! (This is way better than the 29 (?) they were thinking.)
Downside, 11 of those we honestly don't know if:
A) they are going to choose our district'ts virtual option (this means they stay on my class list, but I'm not responsible for their instruction until January when they can transition back)
b) they are going to choose to be virtual but in //my// classroom (I am responsible for their virtual education)
c) they are going to show up on day 1 with all their stuff and need to be taught
c) they aren't returning at all to our school district/my schoolSo.
That's scary.
