I really need to stop avoiding this one work task I keep avoiding but I have a whole lot of don't wanna in me and I seem to generate more at every turn.
I have a whole pile of those. Bankruptcy notices from people we don't care about? Yeah. You're just gonna sit right there until I'm ready to deal with you.
-
@Derp I'm literally preventing myself from getting paid by not doing this contract invoice and yet.

Why meticulously organize the SharePoint library of training documents, templates, and standard work that I get paid to manage.....
When I can meticulously organize the org charts, source material, and land holdings of imaginary houses for an online game I play for free?!
PROCRASTINATION PROJECTS.

So, I don't know if this goes here, or health, or real life peeves, but fuck it.
I'm sick. Low grade fever, headaches, exhausted, and so on. My boss asked me today to get a dr note or a covid test.
Problem - if you have even ONE Covid symptom, you can't get in to see the dr. - You have to go get a Covid test. Tests are only given with a dr order, or at the Urgent Cares. None of the UCs in my county had an opening, nor in the closest two. So now my boss wants me to work tomorrow, because I can't get proof of being sick. WTF
-
JFC your boss is stupid.
-
@Macha Teledoc?
-
-
That's... strange. At this point COVID tests should be available for... anyone with or without a doctor's note.
What backward ass state/country do you live in where that's still a requirement now that we have sufficient testing supplies?
-
@silverfox New York. We're riding a second wave. And it's not that we don't have supplies, it's more that they can only see so many people in an urgent care in a day, with all the extra measures in place. (Note: Not NYC)
-
I'm going to ASSUME YES, but just in case, you've checked out other locations for testing, right?
https://forward.ny.gov/covid-19-testing#:~:text=Testing is free to all,-364-3065.
-
@Macha Since May, pharmacies can give Covid tests in NY. Not all do but some. Check CVS, Walgreens, etc.
-
@silverfox Yes. I checked all the ones in my county.
@TNP None of the pharmacies I called had any, and they said their sister stores were out, too. (We've had a spike, after all).
But thank both of you for the suggestions.

How weird. Where I live, just calling and asking for an order to get a test was enough... but then, I work in a facility that's had a lot of COVID, so maybe the rules were different for me.
-
I am being tested three times a week as per instructions from the dept of health. We also have rapid tests that read in 15 mins that can taken whenever one feels they are getting symptoms. The rapid tests are not as accurate though. The next test we are doing is oral rather than nasal. This week I am getting 3 different kinds of covid tests.
-
I almost want to get COVID again just so I can get another three-month pardon on having those hateful fucks jam any more pipe cleaners into the speech center of my brain.
-
Well, the urgent cares here open at 8 am. I attempted to schedule an appointment for today after midnight, but got the 'the clinic is closed, please try during business hours'. So, 8am, there I am, trying. And trying. and trying... all of them are already booked up for the day.
The woman I spoke to yesterday, told me I had to do it online, but the website says they do it by phone. So I am going to call, and be like "Look, I need this test done for work, and it will not let me schedule it online for a future date. Please help me out."
-
The saga has a new plot twist. Doctor called in to a different health network (there are two systems here in my town, but thankfully they can work together), and I got in for the mobile testing site...Next Tuesday.

I am plagued by something that is sapping me of all my energy.
No fever; no aches; just a bit of coughing from allergies.
But damn if this sucks.
-
... as a teacher I'm use to CPS (child protective services) not doing shit. So when they abruptly step in and do something then you know that something terrible happened.
