Anybody watching Slasher? Not sure if this one's been mentioned. I've watched three episodes, and it seems like a show written by horror fans.
-
I watched the first episode of Outcast and it made me a fan. Looking forward to watching the story unfold.
I hope Preacher works out as well.

So far all the reviews have been positive. I suppose we'll find out tomorrow.

@Coin RIP Banshee. I also wish they'd had a full last season.
It was only two episodes short of a full season. I don't think the story could have gotten stretched out much further this season, anyway. It was a decent, impactful end. Mothafuckah. </Job>
Man, I'm sad to see Banshee go but it sure did have a good run.
Job was the man! Or...

So, The Preacher.
I don't know the comic and I'm not a fan of 90s Iron Age to begin with. But it came after FtWD so I watched it. I left me pretty uninterested. How did those of you who were looking forward to it like it?

It didn't do it for me. I thought it had potential, and I'll give it a run, but it didn't blow me out of the water.

I'm waiting to see. Unlike the comic this seems to be set in a single town, but it remains to be seen how much of the writing they'll be able to translate to the screen - Ennis' writing alternated regularly between hilarious absurdity and serious kicks right in the feels, so ... maybe.

RE: Preacher
I'm specifically putting off watching the pilot because I want to be able to do two or three episodes at once. AMC shows tend to need a little time to spool for me to get into them. From the interviews I've read, the creators are both lovers of the source material and aware it's going to need some tweaks to translate, so I'm cautiously optimistic. I've liked the casting so far, which is half the battle.

I really enjoyed the pilot, it hit most of the sweet spots for me, and seemed to have that goofy fun vibe that made True Blood fun in the first season. Of course, watching it with my parents was extra fun, my mom hates that sort of stuff.

Re: Preacher
I don't know, it felt like Seth Rogen and whoever else was behind the camera were trying really hard to tun it into a Tarantino film and didn't quite make it.
I think AMC ought to take those resources and apply them to Into the Badlands instead. Anybody else seen it? It's fantastic.
