Good TV

Dark Matter is very trope-y and kind of predictable, but nevertheless a good time. Killjoys is a little better, so far, and looks like it'll be fun.
My dad gushed something fierce about Ripper Street last night.

Never sleep on Mike Judge, @Arkandel, Also I at least very much enjoyed the premiere of True Detective Season 2 - it is a less fun show when you cannot binge watch it, and it has a more ambitiously sized cast this season, but it was still a good opener with great mood.

I started watching Bitten on Netflix. It's not a terrible werewolf show by any means, so far (I'm 3 eps in), for being based on a werewolf set of YA books like the Vampire Diaries. Laura Vandervoort does pretty damn good in this, she has much better direction than the LAST thing I saw her in, Smallville.

I watched season 1 of that and it was fun - but then again I'm a sucker for will-they won't-they. Season 2... meh. I wasn't into it.

@Arkandel
I'll keep that in mind. Plus the main male character is easy on the eyes, which helps as well. -
I have been watching Ascension with the wife on Netflix. Sad that it was cancelled after one season. I kind of wish though that the whole generation ship thing wasn't a giant petri dish in the end.
A generation ship would be a great idea for a MU*….

Not sure Women of the Otherworld is a YA series. I couldn't stand the TV show as I liked the books, maybe if it wasn't for that.
-
It's an old one, but "Being Human," the BBC version, has been compelling. You'll see a popular dwarf from Lord of the Rings and a number of other relatively well known faces in it.

Most of them are Romance. I think Savannah's book is YA, at least one of the beginning ones. She might have gotten one when she was older that wasn't YA.
Aaaaannywise. I preferred "Bitten" (the TV show) to the books. In the books the main female lead is suuuuuuucch a cunt.

Finally finished Sense8 tonight. There was something so heart-wrenching about -- I don't know how to say it, the optimism of it? Not naivite, but the overwhelming sense of all these different, disparate people, all broken in their own places, reaching out to help each other. I AM VERY OVERWHELMED WITH FEELINGS.

You pansy, he said, knowing he'll probably tear up or some shit when he watches it.

Been meaning to watch Sense8.
I also want to watch the new season of True Detective. Just finished watching the first season for the first time last Friday, while it was my gf's first time watching it. She said she felt pretty dirty after watching the last episode.
-
I've always liked the bad wife.
-
@Roz I thought the premise and the characters themselves were pretty good, but I guess I wasn't as impressed by the story/conflict/whatever? I watched it all, don't get me wrong, but I was perhaps too hyped for it.
Also: Too. Much. Birthing.

This.
Though, really, I just heard it was super slow and had pacing/transition (rimshot) issues of the sort that may have worked for the show, but generally don't sit well with me, so I haven't really given it a try yet.

Killjoys is a lot of old school Sci-Fi/Action fun I agree. Dark Matter has grown on me.
New Season of Defiance is making me so happy as well.
-
Defiance needs a tighter script. Its budget is good for it, dammit.

I'd agree with that.
I still think this season is an improvement over the last. Even with the loss of some characters. Not sure how I felt about the last episode though.
I'm also out of the loop on how Defiance Players have influenced this years episodes.

"Jennifer Garner famously played Elektra to Ben Affleck’s Daredevil on the big screen."
lolololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololololol.
I love how she mentions Garner played her in Daredevil but neatly dodges even mentioning Elektra. I mean they were both shit movies, but haha.
