Since this whole quarantine business had started, I found myself listening to more and more music. I've discovered more and more bands I've since being home, with my son repeatedly telling me I have bad taste(What does he know. He's almost 14. I've raised him better that what he listens to! HA!) So anyway, what are some of YOUR favorite songs/musicians? What do you think I should try?! I like everything everything, so nothing is off limits!

@SuperiorHuron
I mean, your gif makes this one pretty obvious, but.....Queen.
I have this theory that it is physically impossible to listen to Freddie Mercury and not feel at least a little bit better, regardless of whatever might be going on in your life. I've told this theory to many friends and they all think I'm crazy until they try it and it works every single time.
I've had friends who had their partner of seven years leave in the middle of the night, cutting off all contact without warning. I've had friends lose a parent to a years-long battle with cancer.
Did listening to Queen solve their heartache? No.
Did it make those moments just a little more bearable? Yes.So, Queen.
The only other band that comes even close is The Struts. -
@Aria haha you would think so, BUT lol Manchester Orchestra is one that I've found. A lot of Indie bands actually. I've just dipped into a whole new genre that I liked, but never delved into until recently. In response to yours? David Bowie and Queen's Under Pressure is probably one of my favorites. As soon as it starts, you instantly KNOW what it is. You turn it up and roll down the window....and like you said, things are more bearable.

I've been working on a project lately that has me neck deep in 80s music. Rush, Eddie Money, Ratt, Oingo Boingo, Poison, Boston, Aerosmith... Spotify playlists!
I will say when I need totally juvenile giggles and good music? Ninja Sex Party. They've been used a lot, lately, to try and keep my sense of humor.

Stop, calibrate and listen ...
I'll listen to anything. Ramones are my all time favorite. Seen them a few times, have all their American vinyls and all the UK b-sides. Been listening to Claudie Mackula for inspiration on the new place

I've sat and listened to YouTube Music randomly pick shit I'm supposed to enjoy.
Today, as I worked from home, I started with Danny Kaye.
Did not regret any part of that decision.

My interests fall all over the place, though the foundation is built in a mixture of 90s industrial and 60/70s rock.
That all being said, I've really really gotten into this band called Junius. Prog rock, space rock, call it whatever you like, but I've wholly and utterly fallen in love with the sound, the lyrics, and the meaning behind the song that these two guys write.
Also, been listening to a lot of Run the Jewels as well. Best rap duo out there.

I've been introduced a good amount of new artists since the quarantine started, and in large part because friends were bored with nothing to do when stuck at home. I usually listen to rap with a smaller mix of prog and math rock, but I've been introduced to a lot of new acts. My favorites have Seaux Chill, Don Tolliver, and 36 Crazyfists. On top of all that I've fallen in love with the Deftones all over again.
