So, a little background, first:
I'm married. My husband and I are in our late 20s. Dragon Ball Z was a thing we both grew up on because uber nerds even then.
He works nights (so sleeps during the day), and frequently talks in his sleep.

Just got home from work, and when I went to hug him and say hi, I scared him awake. Or so I thought.
I say sorry, and he procedes to say:
"It's ok! The other guy at the NOC (where he works) scares me too. He's alive again too. Keeps dying, and coming back. Alive and dead. I'm glad you're alive too."
To which I ask: "What? Who's dead and now alive?"
"You know who I'm talking about (exasperated huff). You KNOW! Freeza!"
TL:DR - Apparently Freeza is back, and works with my husband.

I finally have my own oscilloscope!
I paid the equivalent of about US$ 340 for this. (I splurged the extra ten bucks to get a 100× probe, see.) It's a 60MHz digital 'scope, a 20MHz signal generator and a digital multimeter all in one. And it's battery powered, something that's important for my mobile lifestyle and my very small workspace at home.
And paired with it at the club today I have my other favourite debugging tool:
That's ½ of my most recent liquor acquisition: a 50%/100proof rice liquor that's considered one of the most famous and treasured brands of its type. I'm looking forward to some serious debugging in the near future.
(Why is this in 125ml bottles? Why not? Don't ask me! I just got the ones that were on special!)

I debug the boards (or, more often, my software that goes into the boards) my company makes.
I have been stressing for weeks about being invited to speak before a state government hearing on end of life choices. Would they be kind or would I get some kind of inquisition? Would I be able to remember all my points? and get them out without choking up to often? etc etc etc
I am glad to say it went really well. I felt I spoke too fast but the committee members and secretary were all lovely and awesome, and actually came up afterwards to thank me in person for my testimony. And I hit all my points.
Also got a tour of the State Parliament house, which was built in the Victorian era when we had a bunch of money from the gold rush. Very pretty and now I have a huge weight of my shoulders, and hopefully something will come of it all.
Well done! Governments can be slow, but every push helps.

Semi-related, is there ANYWHERE other than the intertubes to reliably get gothic clothing? I have been roped into going full industrial-goth for Halloween with some friends (I am too proud of my beard to go goth loli like my one friend is doing), and I need a place to get stuff. I was more meaning general stores (I don't think anyone that's on MSB is anywhere less than about 3 hours from me, as I'm in Lexington, KY).

Unfortunately it's probably a little too close to Halloween for this to be a super likely thing, but have you hit the thrift stores in your area? Eldest kiddo has found some really good stuff there that she's altered a bit to suit (she's 13 so she does not have mad sewing skills, but has painted/did minor things).
If you're aiming in the general vicinity of rivethead, check around for military surplus stores, for starters. If you've got a good one you can probably put together just about the whole thing there.
How warm is it by you? You could always go the classic EBM/Ebbhead look with a white t-shirt, black shorts, suspenders, combat boots and either a biker or bomber jacket. No need to shave., except for maybe the sides of your head. Suspenders are worn down.
My best friend is about as big of a star as you can get in the genre without being Bargeld, Ogre, Leeb or Reznor and he just wears shorts and a t-shirt onstage, with a short-sleeved button down shirt. I guess he wore a hockey jersey in Calgary - forgot about that.
(I'm kind of the stance that people who go for the muppet/dreadfall/crazy contacts/fetishwear thing are pretty much poseurs and it shows in their shitty, shitty music - I'm looking at you, Ludovico Technique)
Otherwise, one of the 'hottest' groups in the genre right now are some hirsute guys out of LA called 3 Teeth. It'd be easy as hell to cop their image:

It'll be cold; it's already colder now than it should be this season (I live in Kentucky, so ultimately our weather is wonky anyway). I was hoping to find something to match a friend of mine who is in the industro-goth mode. She has something kinda like this going on:
Yeah. Your friend's doing the cybermuppet look. I'm pretty sure the whole gas mask thing was started by my old friend Andrew back in the early '90s because he got sick of breathing in all of the smoke at Kontrol Faktory. Somehow people decided this was a good look and perpetuated it through all sorts of weird permutations. Especially since the fashion ones are generally completely non-functional. Just like the fashion goggles with spikes all over the lenses and shit. Ugh.
Less tired/trendy male equivalent: tight black t-shirt, cropped/rolled black cargo pants, combat boots/Doc Martens, welding goggles, again with the shaved sides and back of the head. Wrist or upper arm cuffs. You could do the hanging down suspenders, too. There really isn't much of a need to go as all-out as your friend is, unless you've got a need to. The actual subculture seems to have propogated itself just fine with guys dressing more subtly and girls going out looking like Lip Service and Cyberdog threw up on them. But if that's what you really want to go for, you can improvise mesh/fishnet shirts out of a pair of tights by cutting the crotch and toes out of them. Wear that under the other things I advised you on. (This will be somewhat uncomfortable on your arm hair and upper chest, just fyi. ) You could use styling glue and temporary hair coloring to do something prickly and colorful to your hair.
People also really love Covenant. Who dress in suits and ties onstage. Tyske Ludder and FGFC820 wear military gear. Front 242 and Haujobb wear hoodies and cargoes. Einsturzende Neubauten and Clock DVA and William Control also go for suits and ties. Kevorkian Death Cycle and Assemblage 23 favor t-shirts and cargoes. Throbbing Gristle and Monte Cazzazza, the progenitors of the genre, wore either everyday clothes or industrial coveralls (before they switched to a more fetishistic military look, and well before Genesis was an intentional polygender). There are a ton of different looks out there, each one of them genuine to the scene.
