Thanksgiving in 2020 means waking up late and having pie for "breakfast".
-
Thanksgiving 2020 means me cooking every fucking part of the dinner: turkey; stuffing; mashed potatoes; sweet potatoes; cranberry sauce; carrots; corn; and biscuits.
-
Thanksgiving 2020 means ordering a turkey bowl and chorizo mac & cheese from WaWa and drinking hard cider until I no longer care that this is the first Thanksgiving in 20 years that I have spent away from my family.
-
Thanksgiving for me means watching my roommate hog the kitchen to make cookies and home made mac and cheese to talk somewhere else, so I can put my turkey roll (w/ gravy) in the oven for over two hours, and then steam my baby reds for fork mashing, and bake the brown and serve rolls. I couldn't get any squash, so.
-
Made myself the best turkey ever. I absolutely rock turkeys which is good since I'll be eating it for 2-3 weeks. I'd happily make a turkey every month if someone else cleaned up. Gods but I hate cleaning.
-
We make cleaning easy with two things.
- We buy a disposable turkey pan every year.
- We cut up the turkey in that pan.
Then when we have the meat off, we take the whole pan, stuff it in a garbage sack, and toss it out. The carver still has to wash their hands, but, that is about the extent of the clean-up.
-
@silverfox I was looking at the roasting pan and considering just throwing it away and getting a new one next time. But even with a disposable, there's still the clean up from making the brining solution and the stuffing. Granted, those aren't too bad but it all adds to the experience.
-
I like to line my roasting pan with foil before using it. It's not a perfect solution, but it makes clean-up a bit easier because the bits stick to the foil, even if the juices seep onto the pan.
I brine in a literal bucket, so that's pretty easy to clean up.

Solo Thanksgiving means all the cider and pumpkin pie to myself.
Watching my cat check out whipped cream (put a little bit in a bowl for her) for the first time was a treat. She sniffed at it and then got VERY excited.

Really loving the Power Rangers comic.
I just bought a book that's a compilation of works by some guy named Joseph Campbell. Mostly because this Power Ranger comic made me realize that I wanted to learn more.

So I'm part of this site (Influenster) to sample, review, and post about on social media. I mean, hey, free shit (look they won me over years ago when they sent me a box full of tic tacs okay).
ANYWAY.
A couple weeks ago I got a couple tubes of Wella's colorcharm Paints in one of the new colors (Fuschia) to try out and... I'm really surprised by it. Like, I dyed my hair pink once years ago. Once because it faded so fast and it was a pain to keep up. I've had it in about a week and a half now, multiple washes, and it's barely faded.https://www.wella.com/professional/en-US/hair-color/color-charm/paints#/?_k=swasdh
I wanted to share cause I know a number of people on here dye their hair and this brand might be worth trying out. They're like, $7 a tube on Amazon (as compared to my usual preferred Pravana which runs like, $20 - MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE).

A friend of mine wrote this; I am extremely proud of him. There's a movement growing within the American Jewish community and I hope it gets big.

Puma is doing a shoe collab with Nintendo right now and goddamn are some of the silhouettes just...chef's kiss
Not even sorry about that purchase. Super Mario Sunshine may not of been my favorite Mario game, but I can't pass up that cerulean with the splatter-print mid sole.

That is gorgeous and I want them.

I survived this semester.
-
I found this place. They do big boob bras at actually reasonable prices with big name brands on there. They post internationally.
-
The show "Another Period". I loved that show so much, I straight up merc'd the Bellacourt name and altered it to Bellecourt for my first mush character, Cumani.
-
Found that HEB has jaffa cakes. And they were on sale.
-
@auspice Sort of related to Jaffa cakes, I discovered that there are now Terry's cookie bars. They're basically a Terry's chocolate orange, but in bar form, and they have a rice 'crunch' layer at the bottom like a Crunch bar. They're pretty amazing.
