My wife just texted me that she found the War for Cybertron Ultra Magnus box for $30 at our local Walmart. I'm actually giddy.
Yup. That's why I got one and am shipping one to a friend.
Despite the label of $49.97, apparently someone at Wal-Mart done fucked up.

I didn't realize how much I appreciate sports until they were gone and all I had was JMR.
But goddamn am I excited for Marble League.
...now if only I could make up my mind on a team to support.

Today is Midsommarafton (Midsummer's Eve) and I'm off to eat a socially distancing dinner with mom and dad and for ONCE the weather is awesome so we can sit outside and make it even safer.
Here, have a Happy Midsummer everyone with this midsummer cat I stole off the net somewhere.

It means that if an employer takes an adverse action against you based on your sexual orientation or gender identity you have a federal cause of action.
If an employer doesn’t hire you because you’re gay, you can sue. If an employer fires you because you’re a lesbian, you can sue. If an employer refuses to promote you because you are transgender, you can sue.
That’s a layman’s version.
Unless they're religious lol
(This is unsettled and Gany is correct about the law as it stands but I am not hopeful)

EBooks! Audiobooks! A library that offers both without needing to go in person!
Is there a book thread? I need recommendations.

@Goblin ...this looks so much like my cat I'm tempted to inflict this on her. Well. Tempted. I like my blood inside my body as much as possible.
-
@surreality Trick her with some treats and be QUICK with a camera

So I said this to him after his first two posts about Candyman over in the movies and review thread. And he's probably going to be really embarrassed at me bragging on his behalf, but fuck that.
I've been with my husband since 2008. When you've been with someone for a long time, it can be really, really easy to just slide into the boring practicalities of every day living and completely forget the things that you adored about that person to begin with. Those posts were a pleasant reminder.
My guy is really smart, y'all. And insightful. And very good about not only respecting other people's perspectives, but considering them. And moreover, wanting to see and hear them.
I lucked out.
(And now you can start with your eyerolls and gagging sounds, you cynical shits.)

I'm not sure if this has been said here before, but one of the perks to wearing a mask is I haven't had anyone tell me 'you should smile' in months.

You should buy a smiley face mask and if someone says that, put it on. Then give the death glare.

I've been told numerous times that my neutral expression makes me look mad, so I get that all the time.

I might have coronavirus.
I'm a health-junkie so feeling unwell or lethargic is pretty unusual for me unless I'm experiencing the joys of being a woman. Thursday though I was taken to hospital because the non-emergency health line I called to describe some symptoms to thought I was having a stroke.
After a lot of tests including an ECG and chest X-ray, they confirmed my heart is fine, even though my heart-rate was very elevated and my blood-pressure was crazy low. They confirmed I have a virus of some kind due to my white cell count in a blood test + other symptoms but the coronavirus swab was inconclusive. So they told me to self-isolate at home for 7 days regardless, which is fine, because all I want to do right now is lie down and have hot baths and drink lots of tea.
Anyway I get a message to open my door today and find ...
- A dozen roses.
- Paracetamol + medication
- Coffee
These are not all from the same person but at least one of the senders (the one I'm not related to) is someone I think I wanna marry right now, but maybe that's just the fever talking.

It's been kinda a scary crappy day but while I was waiting in my car for an appt my favoritest voracious predator (a ladybug) flew in and landed on me and hung out until it was time for me to go in.
-
My big floofcat usually prefers hubby, but she has been draping all over me today snoring and drooling and kneading and purring and trilling at me when I try to get up. Apparently The Queen has decided I should get more rest today.
-
To be fair, I'd probably do the same if you let me floof on your lap.
-
I have called off work today, which is like the 6th or 7th time this month that I have called off. I'll probably catch some disciplinary and my paycheck is going to be shit, but I am loving just sitting here, enjoying some juice and watching some mindless crap on Youtube rather than dealing with the stupid stress of my job.

The Texas Book Festival will be hosted online this year, so anyone can check it out: https://www.texasbookfestival.org/
It isn't for a few months, but you can sign up to the newsletter. I'm not sure who this will interest, but! I thought I'd share.

My roommate who works for an italian import deli - brought me home a gift. Their pasta salad is so good, and she brought me home a bowl, just for me.
-
Pick my son up from his father's and naturally..he's bringing home a injured bird. Begging me to bring him to tend to it. Tomorrow we call our vet tech friend, where we got our nubbed tailed cat from..Until then, meet Weebler.

I just replaced a stupid critical element on my job eval with one that includes the words 'project management' and it feels as good as the raise it's probably going to get me.
