I see @Aria talking about a Philly WoD game, and now all I want is a Philly WoD game where Gritty is some sort of supernatural creature that beats the shit out of alt-righters.
But I've also pined over 7th Sea for quite some time too, so I know @Cobaltasaurus's feels there.
Hello, Philly Native here.
I will accept this if Gritty smells like pee. I always insist that Gritty needs to smell like pee to truly embody Philly.
It's difficult to put into words about why this is true and right.
I mean, have you ever really been to Philly unless you've accidentally stepped in a puddle that may be rainwater, may be pee, but definitely smells like the latter on the small streets around The Gallery or the convention center at least once? No. No, you have not.

@Rucket The WoD Philly MU was just CoH, but with x20. Yes Sneks, no Mum-Rahs. Alas
I tried that place. It was horrible. And by horrible I mean that staff told me there wasn't really a setting or a plot and on my second login, some rando started paging me about how we should make twins. I had literally never spoken to them before. Did not log back in.

Also, double post because A++, would play fae L&L game. Please make the thing now, despite the title of this thread.

A part of the reason I made this thread is in case anyone got inspired by other people's ideas they didn't want to make for one reason or another.
Also I would play a fae L&L game too, to be honest. Similar vibes to Hell in my opinion, but more trippy bullshit.

Would also play the Hell L&L game. Do the thing.

I will legitimately code and write up the Hell game as a side project once my MUSH is finished. I'll even maintain and update it. But it'd be up to someone else to run it.
Meaning, I would fully create the game in every way, but then I'd choose a headwiz for it, if that makes sense. I would not actually staff this game beyond helping with some behind the scenes stuff and perhaps plot flow things. I guess you could say I'd serve as more an executive producer than a director, since I'd be busy with my own game.

There was a Hell-set game ages back -- last I recall of it was 20 years ago. I never actually played there, though a few people I know did and I almost got around to it. It was very much a 'love it/hate it' place, iirc, per the folks who were there.

Think you mean HellMOO. It was an interesting game.

HellMOO is still a very active game. I tried it once, then repressed some memories.
Also, HellMOO isn't actually about Hell.

There was an actual game set in Hell -- not sure of the codebase. It started in the late 90s and went through... early 00s, I think?
As in, the actual website included the hierarchies and realms of Hell, and people could pick up named entities as FCs of a sort, or they could create their own hell-denizen. It was very L&L, from the few bits I ever saw from there, and it makes sense considering how that hierarchy is structured.
I ended up checking it out since someone wanted someone they knew to pick up their co-head of some group or another that no one had taken up -- I think the character was based on actual mythological Hel -- but the world and its pre-existing interplay was a little too detailed/etc. for me to just dive into it at that level and feel like I'd do a role like that any justice.
-
@surreality I remember it. I didn't play there, but recall looking at it with interest. It was HellMUSH. HellMOO came first and is another thing and I don't know what it's about except that it was one of the earlier LambdaMOO-spawned things so it's probably about socializing and coding.

A party-vs-party post-apocalypse or 'Walking Dead' thing. Or party vs party vs party 'cause splitting off and founding your own little group would be a thing, but you're always competing for fuel/food/shelter, and there are good mechanics for base-building and stockpiling stuff.

Just slap a new coat of paint on a copy of Arx for Helladies and Hellords. Call it Hell-Arx, or Hlarx for short.
I would personally wanna make combat a little crunchier, but honestly every other system would fit that kinda game really, really well imho.

Also, change the resources:
- Souls
- Favors
- Lawyers

The idea was a mix of Scion and Birthright set in the Victorian Era. Then I realized that anything mentioning race would be an invitation to disaster.
(Children of Gods taking over regions, trying to change them, and better their place in a world dominated by the British and other empires.Who also have Scions.)

Totally basic I think...but a Star Wars game set during the early days of the Rebellion. No force users, no FCs, and set in a corner of the Empire to start with no regard for future canon. Most fun I ever had MU*ing was probably at SW: Uprising in the early 2000s. Let's go steal some X-Wing prototypes.

That or a game focused on a place like Nar Shaddaa where people gotta work through the criminal underworld. Or something.

If it was somehow tied into original trilogy elements, spaghetti western, wild frontier'ish. Like Chicago of the 1880s-1890s, 'civilization' before the frontier, where on the one hand an elaborate worlds fair is underway with lots of celebration but at the same time, Murdercastle serial killer is running his murder hotel, and same world fair where two days before the close, the re-elected fifth term mayor is assassinated by a disgruntled man who didn't get a government appointment he thought he was owed.

A spell-punk or dungeon-punk setting either in space (Spell Jammer??) or in a near-future setting, Like an Eberron, meets the 22nd-century advanced with magitek theme.
Another theme I've always wanted to try was going the other way and bringing the far future into a fantasy setting ala Escaflowne's take on giant mechanical knightly armors and other high-tech devices made from low-tech, or 'magical' means.
