... or something. Texas state officials are still trying to figure out if they can refuse to provide licenses to same sex couples. They probably will because they can. Sometimes I love my state, and then sometimes I wish our politicians would burst into flames.
If it's your damn job to issue marriage licenses and everything is legal and in line, issue the fucking license.
Huuuuuge deposit, which I can either put on a credit card or just dump all at once for several hundred dollars more. Biweekly payments that will chomp my paycheck. And this may take six weeks or more. All just so I can finish the paperwork and see my kid on a regular basis. Totally fucking worth it but still guuuuhhhhhhhhhh.

I don't know. I am thinking that we should probably privatize marriage completely. Then whoever, whatever, wherever would be able to define marriage as they see fit.
I'd abolish marriage as an institution and leave it, and other unification-type ceremonies and rituals, to cultures that wish to define them as such. The legal benefits of a civil marriage are almost as archaic. It's a contract. Just let it be a contract.

A default template of fiscal and other rights and responsibilities would be good. The basic idea that a standard does exist and it is reasonable to expect that standard and that flimflamery via small print isn't generally accepted.

The forecast has changed (again!), and now it says it'll be only 97 tomorrow and Thursday, and drop to 93 over the weekend and Monday we'll even be at 88!
I guess the storm helped some, maybe?
